Salt Water Suds will have a table at the New World Island Academy Spring Fair, April 13th. Our soaps are cold process soleseife soaps locally made in small batches using water from the ’mighty A’ (Atlantic Ocean) as our base. Drop by and support the school’s technology fundraiser and local vendors.

Salt Water Suds. A Whale’s Tail … sometimes you see it; sometimes you don’t

Salt Water Suds. Sunset over Batrix Island. Out of the mold and cut this morning. Always try to replicate my ‘named’ soaps but no way to get them exactly the same. This is today’s cut with another batch in the mold for tomorrow. Quite pleased with this one and hoping tomorrow’s cut will be as pretty. I don’t usually stamp my soaps but this one was just begging for a seagull!

Salt Water Suds. Just cut yesterday’s soap and have to say that there’s something about the plain bar that appeals much more than the other. Looks like pure luxury! Thoughts? Do you prefer the white too?

Salt Water Suds. Some customers prefer a soap with no scent or colorants. This double butter recipe is a luxury bar with or without the added Color and fragrance. Cut is tomorrow. Watch for it!

Salt Water Suds. Rainbow Soap. It’s a process!

Salt Water Suds. If at first you don’t succeed, try, try again. Left my soap in the mold for two days. Big mistake. I was, however able to salvage the nasty and make lovely soap dough sea urchins. Then back into the ‘studio’ to stir up another batch!

Salt Water Suds. My rainbow soap, Pride and Joy, is one of my favourites to look at but easily my least favourite to make. So many layers and timing and temperature are critical. And then sometimes … an ‘oops’ totally throws you off kilter! All’s well that ends well, however, and still a couple more days to go working on this order. I may do a little rainbow dance when it’s done!
