The results are in. This guy needs surgery on his hip joint. What we hoped was just inflammation or maybe a small dislocation was found out to be a condition called Legg-Perthes. In short, it stops the blood flow to the bone, which then causes it to deteriorate and deform so this is why he has been in so much pain. He’s booked in for FHO (femeral head ostectomy)surgery with a specialist next week and I thank everybody for their patience with me in the future weeks because I will definitely have limited time in the salon and more time rehabilitating him at home.
If you need something in the short term, I can definitely refer you to another stylist, just send me a text, and I will happily get that moving for you.

Unfortunately, our little guy will need to see a specialist for a leg that has been bothering him for much too long for an almost 9 month old puppy. I’m closing off all future bookings for now to leave space in our schedule for him to see the doctors he needs to see so he can finally get back to his regular puppy activities. If you need an appointment immediately, I do have the lovely Morgan who has availability Tuesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays. Please reach out to me or her for those requests. She has access to all of my formulas and is happy to help you out in the short term.

Today I did a thing! I registered to become a Herbalist 🌿

Growing up, one of my nicknames was “hippie chick”. I’m going back to those roots and really diving in to what matters to me and that’s using what the Earth gives me to make my life and hopefully yours too, a more toxin free environment. Don’t get me wrong, I am not against pharmaceuticals and they have their place in my life. But plants have been used for 1000s of years and i want allll the knowledge to be able to support my health and wellness.

I hope to eventually bring this into my practice behind the chair and be able to offer an alternative to some of the traditional products we use on our hair.

Wish me luck and I hope you’ll all support me in this new adventure I’m going on. 🌱 🌹

It was a looooong trek from Vancouver and I was tired sweaty and a bit delirious when I arrived but I made it. I will fly premium economy on any flight longer than 3hrs from now on. It was phenomenal!!! I got a pillow, blanket, champagne in a real glass, free everything, a delicious chicken dinner and free headphones for my tv. Baller stuff!!! A small bummer, my conditioner exploded in my bag and I forgot a friggin hair brush!! So thankfully my hotel provided and comb fit for a mouse 😂 it’s better than nothing and it was free.

Tonight I meet up with Rob and we ride 🏍️ to Ronda to enjoy 2 nights there. Stay tuned 🇪🇸

I’ve been reflecting on the loss of my super important wing man Beans and heading to the salon brings my life some joy.

My boy has crossed the rainbow bridge and is now running wild on the sand bars. I can’t express my love for him because he holds so much space in my heart. He touched so many people in his 15.5 years and forced them to love him too. You don’t like dogs? Beans turned you. You don’t like tiny dogs? You loved Beans. You don’t allow pets in your space? You let Beans. You want to sit alone? Too bad, Beans showed up on your lap and you loved it.

I am feeling lost and comforted at the same time but it was his time to go. I know that for sure. But it was still the hardest thing to do.

I ask that you please do not approach me in the salon while I’m working to give your condolences. It will be too hard. We might have an area for notes etc of love for him somewhere in the shop because I know he touched all of you with his big tiny heart.
