Back to work! What a great holiday! So nice to have time off, sun, relaxation, and family time! This week is going to be a crazy week, but it's a good thing I got rested up. 🤣

Off today!!! Whoot whoot... last week before holidays. Just a reminder, I am off the first week of August. Still have a few small spaces available Tuesday and Wednesday.

When I started hair school 32 years ago, it was really about trying to do my best, trying not to make people look ugly, hoping people would like me—that kind of thing. But now I feel it's not even about hair, and sometimes I want to run away from this job, hide, not care about people's hair. Some days I can be very mentally and physically exhausted, and I say I just want a "normal job." But over time now, I think things have changed. I realize it has almost nothing to do with hair. It's about My People, the people that share their life with me and I share my life with them monthly, weekly. I realize how much we celebrate together—our victories, jobs, babies, marriages—and how we share pain together: physical pain, hospital visits, cancer, divorces, family feuds. And then the grief: parents passing, children passing, friends passing away. We go through it together.

All of this, I never expected many years ago. Today, as I said farewell to one of my favorites (of so many), I was sad but always felt very blessed to have shared so much with her over the years. Thank you, Gail, for being one of My People ❤️❤️❤️

So happy summer is finally here! With that in mind, I will be taking some long weekends and a week of holidays starting August 1st. I'm also trying to cut down to two evenings a week instead of three, so please plan ahead, especially if you have an event or something you need your hair done for. Thinking ahead instead of waiting until the last minute will ensure you get a spot and reduce pressure on both of us. With shorter weeks, it can get busy. I always try my best to accommodate within the hours I set. 😊☀️🩴👙
