Sooo today on tick tock I came across (she’s an amazing makeup artist and content creator, go check her out) and she was given the entire Lamer line to try out. She was asking the question “is it really worth the money?” In her opinion the answer was “No, you can get the same results from other, more affordable products”. Having never tried it myself I was curious what the price was. Here’s only a few screen shots from the Sephora website. Are you seeing this?! Some of this product was listed for $750?! I’m in shock. As someone who works in the beauty industry and has history in the fashion industry I believe some pieces in your wardrobe/vanity can be “investment purchases” meaning that the quality can make sense when it comes to the price. Never have I ever seen these price markets on skin cream though. Like who is your target customer ? I can tell you it isn’t the everyday woman raising kids, or the students. It’s definitely a luxury brand and that fine if people want to spend the money However, on what planet is this normal?! If anyone has questions regarding skin care or has interest in putting themselves on the list I.e self care, let me know. I have some amazing at home, affordable suggestions!

This past weekend Anita Eng and I went all the way to Huntsville for a wedding party of 7. This is the bride, I believe she has the thickest, longest hair of the season. If there was a prize for it she would have won it. Look at those curls! We prep the hair before any up do with different products for you hair type and then we curl it. This was 1.45min of just curling!! The results are beautiful!!

Congratulations to this one in a million, never meet sweeter people and newly married couple! I can’t say enough about the two of you! It was so so special watching you guys get married and then getting to celebrate your love. Thank you so much for allowing me to be a part of your big day! This year I decided to donate my services to a grade 8 graduate at Scott Central PS who had exemplified kindness, compassion and empathy. Here’s this years winner…Kaitlin. A very sweet, kind and beautiful 13 year old who had gone through quite a lot as a young girl this year. We did lots of long bouncy curls and a beautiful eye to match her dress. Congratulations my dear!! You deserve the world and more.

I debate every year weather to acknowledge today or to just let it past. 9 years ago, in the very early hours of another June 2nd it looked quite different. My world crashed, my body seemed to be on autopilot. My mom had passed away.
When you loose someone it can feel very isolating and somehow you can’t believe that no one else seems to get what just happened. Like a earthquake that is shattering but everyone else keeps on walking, unaffected.
I don’t usually like to acknowledge today, or give it space by posting. Most people know I’ve lost both of my parents so posting on social media makes it feel like I’m asking for pity....which I hate. I’ve been an “orphan” since age 30, my sister since 25...seems rather young but we’ve learned a lot. Somethings we probably wouldn’t have learned otherwise.
My sister and I get called “strong” a lot. People say it for comfort or as a response to our grief. I don’t mind the word but I can tell you that most days I don’t feel strong. I deal with anxiety, depression, lack of motivation and PTSD. Results of trauma they say. So my strength I guess comes from meeting everyday knowing this but finding all the small and beautiful things in life that I’m great full for. I don’t have my mom or dad, but I do have my beautiful boys, loving husband, my friends and my chosen family. I have sunrises and sunsets, my doggo, my home, leaves on trees and every change of season.
My mom taught me to look at the beauty in flowers and kittens. To watch The Sound of Music and sing “Favourite Things” until your throat hurts. To laugh until you cry. My mom taught me to love and laugh and to remember tomorrow is a new day. My mom taught me what strength is.
Remember that strength doesn’t always come from going through stuff but rather how you look at everyday. Not just days that hurt or are happy but everyday, even if it means your just surviving tomorrow is brand new. We are all stronger then we know.

New Glasses!! Picked these up . There different from what I usually wear but I really love this style.

Congratulations to this Happy Couple Jessica Bass and Jeremy Bass!! They tied the knot yesterday, even with COVID. A very small ceremony and reception but the LOVE between these two is MASSIVE! I was honoured to offer up makeup cervices. You guys and gals all looked stunning! Many Blessings in the years to come. ♥️♥️

I did my own makeup for the first time in a while. With COVID it’s been hard to find the motivation to get all dressed up and go. As I was putting it on, I was reminded of how much I really enjoy it. I was reminded of my own self expression, creativity and ultimately how it makes me feel. I felt beautiful and more myself for the first time in a while. I hope whatever you might be missing during COVID you can find some time to give back to yourself. Might not be makeup but I warm bubble bath, a nice walk or whatever. Self care is SO SO important! Love you all and I hope to see you again soon. ♥️.
