The learning never stops 🤓

I spent a weekend earlier this year at a cadaver lab with CAMA. This conference was a hands-on training day designed to deepen facial anatomy knowledge and refine injection techniques 💉

❓Why cadaver labs matter:
They let injectors see real, three dimensional anatomy. Seeing where vessels, nerves, fat pads, and muscles truly sit (and how much they vary) is key for:
- Understanding danger zones & vascular risk
- Choosing safer injection planes
• improving needle vs cannula precision
• managing complications with confidence

🪭 My takeaways:
This lab leaned heavily into injectables-focused teaching using cadavers. Many attendees were newer injectors (love seeing that commitment to education 👏). While I would’ve loved a deeper anatomy dive, the educator panel was excellent and I definitely got to nerd out on specific topics.

Continuing to learn and train even after entering the industry helps me stay up to date with new techniques, research, and stay improve. The learning truly never stops!

GUMMY SMILES AND BOTOX

There’s been a ton of talk online about “lip flips” as an alternative to lip fillers to achieve a fuller lip.

But did you guys know that lip flips can also help to refine your smile?

EXPLODING NEEDLES?!?

Thankfully this is not a common occurrence, and can be avoided by making sure that your needle is screwed onto the syringe correctly.

There are a ton of different types of needle gauges and syringes, but most are designed to be failsafe as long as the materials are used safely and correctly.

I’m so glad this injector was checking the syringes away from the patient!

Honestly…I completely agree with , botox too early doesn’t just affect your face, it affects how you perceive aging.

If you get used to never seeing lines, the moment one shows up, it can feel terrifying. And that’s why I sometimes ask patients to wait.

Save the money. Put on sunscreen.
