From platinum blonde to violet red with a root shadow

(Signs by counter protesters) Once upon a time when I first started this account, I wasn't sure how much of my personal self and views "should" be shared because "hair is hair", "business is business".

As I grew as a person and as a stylist, I discovered what makes doing hair meaningful to me -it's being able to provide an inclusive safe space where I can help people feel more themselves, express who they want to be, leave feeling seen and cared for.

If you've sat with me, you likely already know where my beliefs lie. If you're new to this space, then allow me to be explicit: I support LGBTQ2S+ rights (see: human rights), Indigenous decolonization (and learning/practicing decolonial frameworks), and advocate for marginalized groups (again, human rights). If this upsets you, then clearly we are not each other's people, you don't have to sit with me.

I care about who and what I support, and if a space I enter is safe for me. It only makes sense to share this so that you know as well.

(PS, kids deserve more credit. If you empower them with the right tools, they can analyze, reflect, self-regulate and make informed decisions. Just sayin'.)

A little pick-me-up for a childhood friend's hair last week 🥰 She has layers of box dye and just about half of it was :(, while wanting to save length. I did a trim, and a toner melt to shift the tones, make it intentional. It's cool how a toner over something preexisting can make a huge difference 🤓 Hair looks and feels better 🫶
