Is pigmentation the new wrinkle?!
This week I will be sharing a few posts focusing on Pigmentation, talking products and treatments to target different pigmentation concerns.
Today, I am introducing you to a hero product Melan tran3x concentrate!
Over the last 8 months, I have witnessed many skin transformations with my clients using Melan tran3x serum by .canada
Improvements with PIE, PIHP, sun-damage and melasma alongside improvements in skin redness and acne.
Hero ingredient
Tranexamic acid (TXA) is commonly used to reduce melanin synthesis in people with melasma.
Tranexamic acid can shrink dermal vascularity. Increased vascularity has been associated with Melasma, and this is why you can notice a red/brown colour with Melasma.
Tranexamic acid provides excellent results in treating most pigmentation concerns due to its ability to target both reds and browns.
Do you have pigmentation concerns?!

~Facial Fat Talk~
Fat pads are areas of closely packed subcutaneous fat cells.
As we age facial fat pads atrophy in the mid and upper portion of the face this can lead to a more sunken face and deflated look, creating hollows. At the same time we can gain more fat (hypertrophy) in the lower face contributing to jowls and saggy skin.
Fat pads start to atrophy around the eyes first, and this is where we see first signs of ageing, noticing dark circles and hollows. Fat will begin to change around the nasolabial folds, noticing deeper lines forming.
As fat pads start to diminish the structure and fullness of the upper and mid face collapses and the lower face becomes heavier, creating a more square appearance as the lower face fat increases.
The fat also becomes more visible as separate pockets of fat rather than a smooth blended appearance of a younger face. See second slide➡️
Facial massage techniques working on the subcutaneous fat to remodel and smooth out the subcutaneous fat to improve the skin and lift facial tissues.
Keeping the fat healthy is key for healthy skin. This can be through deep tissue facial massage, lymphatic drainage, a protein rich diet, avoiding drastic weight loss and avoiding aesthetic treatments that can break down the fat layer prematurely.
Facial fat can be over looked in facial ageing, many aesthetics treatments on the market can damage the fat which can prematurely age the face.
Avoiding treatments like heat based skin tightening treatments and radio frequency, as these have shown to damage facial fat.

~Fascia and Facial Ageing ~
Changes in fascia and tendons will affect the way the face ages.
First, what is fascia?
Fascia is connective tissue surrounding and holding every organ, blood vessel, bone, nerve fibre and muscle in place.
Muscle fascia is composed of many molecules, that consist of structural proteins (collagens, laminins, fibronectin, tenascin and elastin), growth factors (TGF and IGF), glycosaminoglycans, proteoglycans, degradation enzymes (metalloproteinases), cytokines and water. These compositions change during ageing.
Fascia does more than provide structure but has nerves which make it sensitive like skin.
Fascia thickness changes as we age depending on the area, some areas will increase and some decrease and this will affect the flexibility.
Fascia is elastic and viscoelastic influencing the biomechanical characteristics of the musculoskeletal system (your bones, cartilage, ligaments, tendons and connective tissues).
Fascia is designed to stretch when you move.🤸♀️
When fascia is stressed it dehydrates and tightens up around the muscle and can lead to tension, pain, less mobility and knots. Fascia can be damaged due to trauma, inflammation, incorrect physical activity and surgery.
Fascia on signs of facial ageing ✨
When fascia is restricted, dehydrated and stiff it creates tension lines which are the deep furrows that follow the fascia webbing structure under the skin. These lines will soften when fascia is released. When fascia is restricted it does not allow for lymph to flow (detoxification) and blood circulation to the skin.
Treating and releasing restricted fascia is important for the health of the skin and this is an area I pay particular attention to during my sculptural buccal facial and also my neurotris micro-current treatment.
Releasing fascia, to soften tension lines.
Working to strengthen and support fascia, through facial massage, Guasha and movement.
Healthy fascia is key to ageing well, as fascia is a big component in many age related changes

Suffering with dry flakey and lacklustre skin this winter?!
Two of my favourite products to help combat the impacts of winter on the skin ⬇️
Creme masque vernix
Crème Masque Vernix was inspired to mimic the vernix caseosa, the waxy protective layer coating the skin of newborns. Rich in lipids (ceramides), peptides and antioxidants, Creme masque vernix will take dull lifeless winter skin to a radiant beauty returned from a week in the tropics.
Serum T.E.W.L
Sérum T.E.W.L, means Trans Epidermal Water Loss and protects exactly that. A super rich serum will lock in moisture and is highly recommended for lipid-deficient Skin Instants®. Its combination of barbary fig extract, jojoba and sesame oil to protect, and raspberry seed and cranberry seed oil to revitalise and replenish the skin’s surface will give you immediate comfort and protection.
How I use
I use Crème Masque Vernix and T.E.W.L. as an intensive treatment at least 4 nights a week over the winter. I am sure many have heard of the term slugging (popular across social media these days). The process involves smearing a thick layer of vaseline/ petroleum jelly over the face to create an occulsive barrier to prevent TEWL in the skin. Great idea but there is absolutley NO way I would ever smear vaseline all over my face - black heads galor! Protecting the skin’s barrier with Creme Masque Vernix and Serum T.E.W.L. , not only are you creating a protective barrier but you are feeding the skin with essential skin health ingredients.

Alcohol in skincare
The good and the bad!
We assume the worst when we hear alcohol in skincare, and many should be avoided, but some alcohols have a purpose and add benefits to products. Here is the lowdown.
The good
Alcohols like acetyl alcohol, stearyl alcohol, propylene glycol and lauryl alcohol are used as stabilizers, emulsifiers, emollients, product thickener and humectants. Retaining product texture and adding hydration to the skin. These fatty alcohols come from natural sources like coconut or palm oil.
Vitamin A1 (retinol) and Vitamin E are also alcohols and pose many health benefits for the skin.
So here’s the bad
Alcohol like SD alcohol 40, denatured alcohol, and isopropyl alcohol are simple alcohols and lead to skin dehydration.
They are generally used in toners and treatments for oily/acne skin to give a squeaky clean feeling. Your skin should never feel squeaky clean. Never! 💕

New product drop!
Introducing active face cream!
“Super fuel for your skin”
This remarkable formula is able to regenerate healthy fat cells to plump the face.
There are many factors to aging of the face - skin changes, muscle changes, fat loss and bone loss.
Fat loss can be overlooked in facial aging and the common solution is facial filler but could adipeau active cream be an alternative solution?!
After 1 week of use - I think so 💕
How to use?!
As a mask, cream or target treatment.
The key is to paint on rather than massage in, allowing the ingredients to be delivered effectively.
I noticed a visible difference in my skin after one week! Plump and glowing ✨
I will continue to use and share videos next week on how to use and incorporate into routines.

How often do you change your pillowcase?!
The general rule is to change once a week, however when dealing with acne, I recommend changing nightly.
Night 1) sleep on fresh clean pillowcase
Night 2) flip to other side
Night 3) fresh clean pillowcase and repeat etc
If you haven’t already switched to a satin or silk pillowcase - do it, your skin and hair will thank you 💕
