Did you know this little sponge has been around since the 1600s? It started out washing baby skin in old Japan, didnโt get its spongy shape until the late 1800s, and itโs still gentle enough for sensitive, acne-prone skin today. No scrubbing โ just a mild alkaline layer lifting the dirt out of your pores.
Save this for your next skincare swap.

Are you washing your face too hard?
Most of us rush through it โ a quick scrub, a fast rinse, done. But washing your face is one of the few moments in the day that belongs only to you.
Swipe through for the 7 gentle steps ๐
1. Wash your hands first
2. Wet your face with lukewarm water
3. Work your cleanser into a foam
4. Wash gently โ let the foam do the work
5. Rinse thoroughly
6. Pat dry, never rub
7. Moisturize
The secret isn't more products. It's a softer touch.
That's where a konjac sponge comes in โ made from a Japanese plant, soft enough for morning and night. Glide it lightly over oily or rough skin in the morning, and massage in small circles at night to care for skin that's worked all day.

Would you believe this little sponge is made from a plant that looks like a potato?
Itโs konjac โ loved in Japan for over 1,000 years. The plant takes about 3 years to grow, and 90% of it comes from the Gunma region. It even became a sponge by accident, through freezing!
Itโs 100% plant-based and made from food ingredients โ so gentle you could almost eat it. And unlike regular sponges, it has no microplastics. ๐ฑ

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who stopped by our booth at Anirevo Vancouver.
This was our very first time taking part, and we didnโt quite know what to expect. What we found was a weekend full of excitement โ and so much love for Japan. It warmed our hearts.
We loved meeting so many new people: fellow vendors who travel to Japan often, fans learning the language, and visitors curious about the culture. It was moving to see how deeply Japanese animation connects people from all walks of life.
With gratitude, until we meet again. ๐
