Getting called one of Eric's favorites still doesn't feel real. Being part of the TENBC team for the FIFA World Cup at BC Place in Vancouver this summer was one of the biggest full circle moments of my career so far. Thank you for trusting me with it 💙 ⚽
There's a difference between watching a game and being part of it. And I got a front row seat to what that looks like all summer.
Fans would sit down already in full kit, jersey, scarf, sometimes a flag draped over their shoulders, and ask for their team's colours across their face like it was the final piece of the outfit. Not an afterthought. A decision.
I'd watch them walk away toward the stadium painted up and chanting and I kept thinking, that's it. That's exactly what this is for.
What a summer.

Booked for a corporate client appreciation event in Pitt Meadows, and these two showed up ready to match. Corporate events do not have to feel corporate, especially when the kids are having this much fun.
The thing that surprises people most: a tent isn't a rain backup, it's already required for every outdoor booking, rain or not.
What actually changes when it rains is the conversation about tent walls, whether the setup can hold up to wind, and whether moving indoors is the smarter call. Because the second a guest steps outside with fresh face paint in the rain, it's gone. The tent protects the equipment. Moving indoors protects the work.

Two hours, one very happy 6 year old, and a whole lot of face painting and balloon twisting packed in.
Ruth's review is exactly the kind of birthday party experience we aim for in Port Moody and across Metro Vancouver: organized, on time, and full of fun for every kid at the party.
We'll definitely be back for round two 🎉
She sat down in my chair and before I even started painting she nodded toward her dad and said "just watch, he's going to get FOMO."
Her husband had gifted them both tickets, a big fan himself, genuinely thrilled to be there, absolutely certain he didn't need his face painted. She got hers done and they walked off into the VIP village.
Twenty minutes later she was back. Said he'd spent the whole time complimenting everyone else's designs. Then he walked up behind her, ready to go.
FOMO gets everyone eventually.

The face painting part is over, now what? A few tips for right after your kiddo hops out of the chair.
Snap your photos right away, don't wait until it's already been played in. Give them a moment at the mirror station to really see their design and get excited about it. And remember, the magic doesn't stop the second they leave the chair, it's worth letting them enjoy it.
Some of the best moments at any birthday party happen after the paint dries, when they're running around fully convinced they're a tiger, a superhero, or a princess. Let them live in it 💖
