Tight hip flexors? 💫 . 🔥 Your iliopsoas and re**us femoris (quad) are major players in hip flexion and low back support—aka, the muscles that get grumpy after long periods of sitting. . 💥 A little stretching can go a long way to break that cycle. . ⚡️Use a yoga block, foam roller, rolled towel, or even the edge of your bed to get into position. . 🔥 Hold each stretch up to 45 seconds, or rep through it dynamically before activity. . 🤔 If stretching hasn’t helped, check out my reel on the Thomas test—it might just point you in the right direction. . Unlock your tight hips💫 . Hips always feeling stiff/tight/sore? I gotchu. . 🔻The joint-by-joint approach is a way to map out the body to help understand in which areas we should have mobility vs stability. . 🔻It generally follows an every-other-pattern type relationship. . 🔻Is it 100% or the end all? No. But it is a decent jump point. . 🔻Taking that approach, the hips should be relatively mobile – with the low back and knees (the areas above and below) being relatively stable. . 🔻When areas that are supposed to be mobile start to lose that range, the “stable” areas will try to help out and become more mobile. . 🔻So, here are a couple moves that give you a relatively well-rounded approach to the musculature in dem hips. . 🔻Sink into what range you got – and remember to think! Unlock your midback💫 . 💃🏻 I put together this super simple trunk-focused mobility/warm-up routine that (almost) all levels can perform. . Focusing on the tspine and maintaining as much motion as you can allows areas like the neck and low back to happily do their thing. . You can use a wooden dowel, PVC pipe, golf club – whatever you’ve got. . I suggest 15–20 reps of each movement. Total time? Just 5–10 minutes. . 🔸Take it as an entire routine or pick and choose what you need for your day. . Like it? Share it! 👊🏻

Neck always feel tight? 💫 . Check them traps . The traps are comprised of three groups: upper, middle, and lower. . 🤷🏻‍♀️The upper trap is prone to hypertonicity/spasm as many of us are going through life slightly shrugging our shoulders – culprits? Keyboard that's too high, pinning the phone between your shoulder and ear, stressful driving situations, purses, kids... you get the idea. . 🙇🏻‍♀️The mid trap is generally somewhat lengthened, often due to protracted shoulders – culprits? A tight pec minor from forward rounding when typing, scrolling, driving, etc. . 🙋🏻‍♀️The lower trap is also often overstretched, which allows the scapula to tip forward and reinforces that tight pec minor. . So we’ve got the upper portion of this muscle in hyperdrive while the lower portions responsible for stabilizing the scap aren’t doing much – a recipe for some legit neck and upper back tension. . Here are a couple moves to try: 1️⃣ Mid trap – face down, elbows lift, squeeze between shoulder blades. Progress to elbow lifts where hands and elbows lift together (but hands stay higher). 2️⃣ Lower trap – slide arms upward while avoiding shoulder shrug. Focus on lifting from just below the scapula. .
