To all of my clients:

In deep reflection and eventually acceptance of the things I cannot change and the things I can, and in pursuit of balance and choosing to make time for the things that matter most… as of November 1, I will be stepping away from behind the chair.

This, sadly means that I will be canceling your upcoming scheduled appointment(s). I understand this is a great inconvenience and I am truly sorry for that. But, I will not be disappearing completely as I will continue to do styling for weddings.

I must express my gratitude for the support all of you have given me as a stylist for the past five years, and as a small business for the last three. I feel so lucky I had the chance to connect and get to know so many wonderful people.

Thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for sitting in my chair, trusting me with your hair, and sharing your stories with me. I will miss you all.

Xoxo

💛 Jes

Ps: Janelle, the owner of QALI Salon, is offering all of my clients 20% off their first service should they wish to book with one of their talented stylist at the salon

Danielle - finally got my hands on this new mom’s gorgeous head of hair 🌞 she wanted for feel like she had her hair done, but keep it low maintenance. To create this look, I used a combination of feathered babylights and balayage to brighten up her ends!

Nicola - still reminiscing over this gorgeous day and even more gorgeous bride. The west coast wind whirling over the ocean was against us this day, but these soft waves held on strong!

Sarah - this lived-in blonde look was created for an easy, low-maintenance grow out using babylights and balayage.

Kaitlin - the beautiful bride with a soft, elegant wave.

Kelsey - model no.1 🍂🌾🥐 first install of 20 inch in Java. I can’t get over the easy and efficient maintenance, quality of hair, and how seamlessly these colours blend with her natural hair.

Hey friends!

I’ve never participated in anything like this before and I wanted to share it with you. I haven’t gone for a run since last summer, but…. On October 3rd, I’m doing the CIBC Run For the Cure.

Here is why:

This is Larisa. Larisa is a friend of mine. She is hilarious, kind, adventurous, has a luscious head of hair, so down to earth, and basically anything good a human can be, and then some.

In December 2019, Larisa was diagnosed with breast cancer. I found out on January 30th when she asked me to cut her hair. This is when I officially became part of her “care team”. Not knowing if she was going to experience hair loss as not everyone get this side effect, we chose optimism (very on brand for us) and opted for a cute, short bob. 13 days later, we learned our optimism was not stronger than the chemo drugs, and we had another hair appointment to shave her hair.

February 24th is a day I will remember vividly forever. We laughed A LOT, we cried a little, and I felt all sorts of things I’d never felt before. I felt Larisa’s hair melting into my hands as I gave her a head massage. It just kept coming out and I panicked. She didn’t. She was so calm and then I calmed. I tried to hold my tears as I finished. It was an emotional moment we shared, and her diagnosis became very real.

We checked in regularly throughout her treatment. I brought her head scarfs and she updated me on hair loss and remaining eyebrow hairs. 5 months later, the good updates started rolling in. Clear test after clear test, ringing the bell and new growth hair photos!

I’m running for Larisa. She’s an inspiration and a survivor. My goal is to raise $500 and run 5km in under 30 minutes. If you have a little extra pocket money and feel like donating, I have the link in my bio. If you don’t have a little extra, I’ll take all the high-fives I can get!

Thanks for your support!

Did you know, I like to craft? 🍭 My mom was super crafty and amazing with children. She was involved in the as a leader for about 13 years and as a child for 4… that’s 17 years! She went up the path with me from sparks, to brownies, to girl guides, and I moved on to pathfinders on my own. She loved working with girls and helping them to find their confidence within, teach them how to camp and be prepared for any obstacle. She challenged us in a kind and caring way, and supported us (all of us) through our badges. What I loved most was working with my hands and creating… and I still love to tinker and creat to this day - which is probably why I made a career out of it. Thanks mom. 💛💛💛

Cintia - living her blondest life yet 🥂 we usually highlight Cintia’s level 3 roots every 3-4 months. But, some of the mids and ends of her hair we’re starting to look a little dark and I just knew her hair could be improved with a tip-out session. In this appointment, I took 1/4 sections and picked out as many of the dark pieces as I could and processed them with 20 vol, and picked out some of her warmer pieces and processed them with a 9 vol. In the end, her result is a brighter, beachy blonde and we are both super happy with the result! 💛💛💛
