I’ll fight for you and all the other kids who got a funeral instead of a birthday. Who spent their birthdays on isolation in a hospital room. Who don’t get to start this school year in their own community. Who celebrate the wins of good blood counts instead of trophies in hockey tournaments. And the kids who are given medicine to bring them to the brink of death to try and bring them back again.

Hi everyone, just a gentle reminder that Mavrik’s celebration of life is this upcoming Saturday in Prince George. We are trying to figure out a way to live stream and will share those details once they are confirmed.

This is open to the public and we are hoping to fill the stands. Even if you didn’t know Mavrik, we appreciate you coming and hearing about childhood cancer and the impact Mavrik has had on our community. And of course the skate from 5:30-6:30.

Just under 1500 beads. Mavrik was given a bead for every procedure, poke, challenge, act of courage, overnight stay in hospital, travel for medical care away from home, fevers, NG tubes, and much more. Just under 500 nights we stayed at Ronald McDonald house during Mavrik’s 19 months of active treatment. We often hear how courageous our kids are during treatment but they don’t really have a choice. It’s life or death and ultimately they might finish treatment and still die. If that makes you uncomfortable, it should. We need better treatment options for paediatric oncology.
