What happens to your body after death?

From the moment the heart stops beating, a series of natural biological processes begin. Understanding these changes helps us appreciate the incredible complexity of the human body and the systems that keep us alive every second.

Science allows us to explore even life's most profound questions.

Why do your fingers wrinkle in water?

It's not because your skin absorbs water and swells.

Scientists have found that finger wrinkling is an active response controlled by your nervous system. The wrinkles may help improve your grip on wet objects, giving you a small evolutionary advantage.

Your body is constantly adapting in ways you may not even notice.

Why can't you tickle yourself?

Your brain is constantly predicting the consequences of your own actions. When you try to tickle yourself, the sensation is expected, so your brain reduces its response before the touch even happens.

But when someone else tickles you, the touch is less predictable, making the sensation much stronger.

Your brain is smarter than you think.

What happens to your body when you don't sleep?

Many people see sleep as optional, but your body sees it as essential.

After just 24 hours without sleep, your brain and body begin to experience measurable changes:
🧠 Impaired judgment and slower reaction times
📈 Increased stress hormones such as cortisol
🦠 Reduced immune function
📚 Declining memory, focus, and concentration

Sleep is when your body repairs tissues, strengthens the immune system, regulates hormones, and consolidates memories.

Sleep isn't a luxury—it's biological maintenance.

How many hours of sleep did you get last night?

Who really determines a baby's gender?

For generations, many mothers have been blamed, insulted, or pressured for giving birth to a particular gender. But science tells a different story.

In human reproduction, the mother's egg always carries an X chromosome, while the father's s***m carries either an X or a Y chromosome. The chromosome contributed by the s***m determines whether the baby develops as XX (female) or XY (male).

This means that biologically, the s*x of a child is determined by the father's s***m at conception.

Understanding the science helps us replace myths and misconceptions with facts.

Did you know… fever is controlled by a part of the brain called the hypothalamus?
When viruses, bacteria, or toxins enter the body, immune cells release chemical messengers called pyrogens. These signals travel to the hypothalamus, which increases the body’s temperature set point.
As body temperature rises, the immune system becomes more active while many pathogens struggle to survive in the hotter environment.
That’s why fever often comes with chills, shivering, sweating, fatigue, and increased heart rate, your body is actively generating and conserving heat to fight infection.
Although fever can feel uncomfortable, it is often a sign that your immune system is doing its job. 🌡️

Did you know, Insulin is the hormone that allows your body to use glucose for energy?
After you eat, carbohydrates are broken down into glucose, which enters the bloodstream. In response, the pancreas releases insulin.
Insulin acts like a biological “key,” helping glucose move from the blood into body cells where it can be used for energy or stored for later use.
Without enough insulin or when the body becomes resistant to it, glucose builds up in the bloodstream, leading to diabetes mellitus.
Insulin is essential for survival, metabolism, and maintaining stable blood sugar levels every single day. 🩸

DNA carries the genetic instructions that guide growth, development, reproduction, and cell function in almost every living organism?

DNA is made up of four nitrogen bases: Adenine, Thymine, Cytosine, and Guanine often represented as A, T, C, and G.

These tiny molecular “letters” form the blueprint of life itself.
Inside nearly every cell in your body, DNA stores the information needed to build proteins, repair tissues, and keep your body functioning properly.

Even though it’s microscopic, DNA contains one of the most complex biological information systems known to science.

⚠️ Many people live with diabetes without knowing it.

Persistent thirst, frequent urination, tiredness, blurry vision, and slow wound healing may be warning signs your body should not ignore. 🩸

Your health matters. Get checked regularly. 💙

Dabetes is more than just “high sugar.”
It’s a condition that affects how your body turns food into energy. When insulin doesn’t work properly, glucose stays in the blood instead of entering the cells — and over time, that can affect the eyes, kidneys, heart, nerves, and more.

Understanding diabetes can help save lives through early detection, healthy habits, and proper treatment. 💙
