After testing several products on all kinds of coarse and textured hair models, here’s what I’ve found works:

Color Wow Dream Coat Extra Strength: Start with super clean, deeply conditioned hair (yes—wash it three times and don’t skip the deep conditioner. Dry hair pulls moisture from the air, which makes anti-humidity products less effective). After towel-drying your leave-out, saturate it with Dream Coat and comb it through evenly. From there, blow-dry with tension and straighten in small sections. Once it’s straightened, leave it completely untouched for 10 minutes to cool and set. Then comb it through.

Kenra Styling Wax Stick: I never apply heat over this—it’ll make your leave-out greasy. This is the finishing touch to lay down flyaways and smooth everything out.

Forgot to film this part, but I also use a heat protectant: Kenra Professional Thermal Styling Spray 19 (after applying color wow and before blow-drying with tension).

What products do you use?

Here’s the tutorial y’all! My most important tip for mixing @nnorhair shades is this: if you’re using bundles for a sew-in or wig and don’t want to cut the weft, ask your stylist to double the weft using one of each color. I’m filming a tutorial of this method this weekend, so it’ll be available online soon.

There are two ways to double the weft: using a sewing machine before the install, or using a needle and thread during the install. This will all make sense once the video is posted.

If you’re installing clip-ins, make sure to layer each color one at a time. That’s it! If your leave-out is natural black to deep brown, use the caramel brown highlights shade right under your leave-out. If your leave-out is level 4 and up, use the golden blonde ombre shade underneath instead.

Be sure to leave enough space in the leave out area to add at least 1 row of short clip-in wefts on both sides. If you add clips ins on your braid down only, then release your leave out to cover the tracks, the top will be bulky, and the tracks will probably show.

Whose hair color have you been obsessed with recently? Comment below, and I’ll try to remake it! DMs are open for suggestions as well.

BaBylissPRO® Nano Titanium™ 1-1/4” Curling Iron

To be honest, I’ve been debating between marking my content with my logo and leaving them bare for some time.

Stylists work hard to produce good work and our content shouldn’t be stolen without credit. However, I learned something really important from two weeks ago. Thieves are everywhere lol. I need to focus on building myself, perfecting my skills, and satisfying my clients. As such, I hope you enjoy my current and future logo-free content ❤️.
