Reflective time with the Herd
Find your inner wisdom and take time to listen…
Get past your socialization, past the beliefs you learned from others, and hear your innate truth.
Combining the meditative practice of focusing, while in the presence of the horses, we will hear our soul’s longing connected to words.
Words such as ‘home’ and ‘belonging’ and ‘destiny’.
Let the horses help you connect to your subconscious, and hear how one word activates your inner wisdom, which gifts you a message from your soul.
As David Whyte, the poet, says, words are doorways that facilitate a deepening of our self-awareness.
He claims that words are alive and speak to us.
They are one way to connect to your inner world.
This is a two hour workshop.
Friday, August 7th at 10am until noon
The cost is $100 per person.
There are a maximum of six spots.

During an equine-assisted therapy session, not only the humans are receiving support, nourishment, love and new perspectives.
The horses themselves are often receiving rejuvenation, as well as support unwinding their own histories.
This spring, there have been moments during various sessions when Molly, the sweetheart pony, has clearly been working through her own, old stories.
In one session, we were focused on the soul’s associations with ‘home’.
‘What is home to me?’
Molly walked right up to me, asking about her home.
Like many horses, she has moved from one place to another, repeatedly.
I told her, this is your forever home.
I told her it is safe to root here.
I sent her the imagery of roots coming from her four hooves.
It took a couple of days before I sensed that she was truly rooting.
She is clearly curious about what goes on here, and has a willingness to embrace the different opportunities for herself.
She is open to create a new story whereby she is recognized for who she is, and whereby her gifts are celebrated.
Welcome home Molly!

The horses have been offering beautiful healing energy to people all spring long.

Happy birthday Pie!
Today our girl turns 12!
She has fully entered adulthood
She has an unusual story.
Born with medical issues and needing to originally be bottle fed, Pie arrived here at two months old with her courageous birth mother, Amiga.
The first six months she lived with her mother, and Landor and Sadie.
Her weaning process spanned six weeks.
She led the way, letting us know when she wanted to go to Vienna, her adoptive mother, and then back to her birth mother.
Her life with Vienna and the herd was indulgent.
She had multiple older aunties and uncles supporting her.
Her health challenges have been successfully managed and she has clearly been grateful.
Early on, Pie enjoyed some ground lessons, including learning some simple tricks, from Marilee Moss.
For the last six years, Pie has bonded with Tessa, who visits every week to groom and walk and love Pie.
Pie looks forward to seeing Tessa and cherishes their special bond.
Cara and I are grateful Pie chose to stay on this Land, and embrace the healing work done here.
She is a fabulous teacher of self-love and worthiness.
In celebration of Pie's life!

Friday June 12th, the Herd and I are offering a day of meditation.
Meditation will take place with the horses – both sitting and walking.
The horses accentuate the experience of meditation.
Being in their presence, we are bathed in their nourishing heart energy.
Their electromagnetic field is apparently five times larger than our own.
Being in this field is soothing to our nervous system and supports our own heart coherence.
The horses are also very good at soothing us emotionally.
On top of all that, they have the ability to connect us more readily to our subconscious, which deepens our understanding of ourselves.
In addition to meditating, the day will include reflective equine-assisted learning experiences focused on personal questions you want to explore.
To register, email Wendy at [email protected]
The cost is $350 and includes lunch.
The day is open to six participants.

You are immersed in the heart space of healing horses.
Feel your system return to coherence and give yourself the gift of rejuvenation.
There is one spot still available for the energy session on Friday, May 29th from 10am until 11am.

This week, the multi-talented Rachel Gedaliya came to assess Luna’s body and figure out what the source of her discomfort is.
Rachel then gave Luna a bodywork session. This consisted of various techniques.
Afterwards, Luna expressed her gratitude by following Rachel around the arena.
So beautiful to witness!
Oreo and Trixie were lucky to be in the arena for the session.
At one point, Trixie stood next to Luna while Rachel treated her pelvis.
The horses will sometimes do this to benefit from the energy of the other horse’s treatment.
Sometimes the companion horse is assisting the human practitioner energetically.
Such a fabulous collaboration!
Rachel also provided Oreo and Trixie with foam platforms, Surefoot pads, to stand on.
This treatment gives the horses’ bodies a relief from standing on hard ground, and allows muscles to release long held tension.
It also provides the opportunity to break old muscle holding patterns, and engage other muscles instead.
Horse guardians can reach Rachel at: 403-963-2465 or [email protected]
Rachel offers bodywork, and aroma therapy for horses. She is currently also a student of homeopathy.

Meet Luna!
Luna joined the Herd about a month ago.
She is a sweet, beautiful black mare.
We are not sure of her breed.
Perhaps a morgan/quarter horse cross…
She is ten years old.
She is very enthusiastic to be a part of the healing Herd here at The Equine Connection.
We have already fallen in love with her!
