I received the most heartfelt message from a client who has sat in my chair for 13 years. I’ve had the privilege of watching her blossom — falling in love, growing in her career, getting married and building a beautiful family with her husband, baby, and their sweet pup.

She shared that with my current availability in Vancouver and her own ability to get downtown, it had become difficult to continue booking with me. She let me know she had decided to see another stylist — and admitted she was nervous, as I’ve been the only person to do her hair for over a decade. I thanks her and assured her that I felt only positive feeling receiving this message and that she would find someone incredible.

Why did this message mean so much? Because it wasn’t just about hair. It was a thoughtful acknowledgement of the relationship we built — the trust, the conversations, the highs and lows shared over the years. She didn’t want to leave without honouring that connection, and that gesture warmed my heart more than I can express.

It also landed at a time when I’ve been reflecting deeply on my own future in Vancouver. I promised myself this transition wouldn’t be about loss or sadness — but about appreciation. Crafting in Vancouver has been a gift. And now, knowing I’m ready to root myself fully in Victoria, I’ve made the decision that 2025 will be the year I close my Vancouver base.

I have countless memories from my years there — shared milestones, laughter, surprises, meaningful gifts, heartfelt hugs, and so much love.

If you’ve read this far and you’ve been a loyal client, please know: I have personally hand-picked incredible stylists in and out of the Yaletown shop for each of you. You are in wonderful hands. You are also always welcome to visit me in Victoria — but I will no longer be doing hair in Vancouver after 2025.

Today Willow received at home end of life care. Despite my extreme heartbreak and sadness I am so grateful to have had willow from a pup to over 16 years of age. Many of you know how special she was to me, some of you even had a chance to meet her. She will be forever missed and in my heart. ♥️
