Recent chronic pain research shows everyone has a unique pain mechanism. It can be caused by overuse for one person, an injury for another, or nervous system overstimulation for others. Understanding your unique pain pattern is fundamental in treating it.
Always remember:
β¨ Pain doesn't mean my body is damaged.
β¨ Thoughts, emotions and experiences can affect my pain.
β¨ I can re-train my over protective pain system.
Meditation and relaxing/effective massage is my favourite way of re-training my nervous system/muscles. What's yours? Acupuncture? Yoga? Body Tapping? Breath work?

Never underestimate the power of light exercise for anxiety! β¨
I learned the value of 20 minute sessions of light exercise during the most anxious portion of my life. I was in massage school and had just experienced my first panic attack. With the amount of cortisol running through my system, too much exertion would just make the anxiety worse. So, 3-4 times a week I would have a 20 minute trail walk, 20 minute yoga session or 20 minute canoe.
Doing that, plus adding a 10 minute guided meditation twice a day, I was able to lower my cortisol to a reasonable level in just 2 weeks (after being overstimulated for about 6 months!)
So, if you're feeling those cortisol rushes and you'd like to decrease them, try a light 20 minute session 3-4 times a week (instead of that crazy hard circuit) for two weeks and see if you notice any improvements. πΆββοΈ
PS Sorry for those that don't want to hear this, but, cutting out coffee was another hugely beneficial step in my anxiety journey! βΉοΈβ

Welcome to my Massage Therapy page! I'm Brenna. Here's a little about me:
Brenna Fletcher RMT grew up in the East Highlands and from a young age observed the natural healing found in nature. She realized humans were no exception and are capable of manifesting their own health and happiness. Her massage education began when she enrolled in the 3000 hour massage program at the West Coast College of Massage Therapy, earning her diploma in December 2013. Sheβs practiced as a Registered Massage Therapist since 2014. She offered massage therapy at Copper Moon Massage & Wellness in Millstream Village until transitioning to her home business in May 2021.
She has an overall relaxing massage style thatβs aided by her intuition and ability to be fully present with each client. She enjoys using myofascial release in combination with trigger point release and Swedish techniques. Her goal is to relax you and aid your muscles and connective tissues in releasing without causing unneeded pain.
Brenna strives to create a safe and comfortable environment for every client. She has worked with many clients with anxiety, PTSD/CPTSD, depression and chronic pain. She is very interested in the benefits of massage on mental health and stress relief and her continued education has reflected those interests.
In her spare time she enjoys drumming, playing her singing bowls, hiking, archery, drawing, meditation, yoga and crafting gemstone earrings.
