Megan is convinced that being a registered massage therapist is the best job ever and believes that doing what you love is the greatest gift that you can give to the world. She is a 2012 graduate of the West Coast College of Massage Therapy’s 3,000-hour RMT program and is a member in good standing with the College of Massage Therapists of British Columbia. She has taken a wide spectrum of continui
ng education courses focused on the treatment of athletic injuries, soft tissue damage from motor vehicle accidents, TMJ dysfunction, tension headaches, low-back pain, repetitive strain injuries, as well as pre and post natal care. Her philosophy is to treat the body as a whole, addressing both the symptoms and underlying cause of dysfunction in order to decrease both physical and emotional stress. Her intention with each treatment is to acknowledge the intelligence of the body, and to work with it, not against it. She often incorporates trigger point therapy, muscle energy techniques, joint mobilizations, myo-fascial release and facilitated stretching into her practice. Megan hopes that you leave each session with a solid understanding of what’s currently going on in your body, why it’s happening and what you can do to prevent it in the future. Outside of the treatment room, Megan enjoys road trips, destination marathon races, strengthening her yoga practice, volunteering with Pacific Rim Hospice and beach walks with her golden retriever. She strongly believes in the integration of other therapies, such as physiotherapy, acupuncture and chiropractic care, for optimal results. She’s very enthusiastic about self care and believes its necessary in becoming the best version of yourself.
