It’s been a while since I have posted anything. My focus took another direction, as can happen when life throws curve balls. I’m settled back in Ottawa. I’ll be returning to the skies and to my photography before long. For now, I’m healing. See you soon!

I have had the privilege of following this family from their first maternity photos until now. It's been a joy to witness their busy lives!

The War Memorial in Ottawa, October 25th, 2014. Open to the public again. The Tomb of the Unknown Soldier is surrounded by flowers, poems, teddy bears, letters, cards. Heavy police presence but no one is really paying attention to them. Most eyes are on the Honour Guards. Stoic, proud. I see both men and women wiping away tears. It's a somber day, but the air is peppered with children's laughter, like bird song in the distance.

When life gives you lemons...grab your iPhone! I was to participate in a Club duathlon on this day, but learned as I was pulling my Jenny (bike) from the Jeep that the inner tube valve was broken off. I almost went home, but realized what an opportunity I would miss if I did! So I grabbed the only camera I had on me and went anyway! This is the morning I captured, with my iPhone. [Don't tell my Canon...she gets envious...] Please feel free to tag away!
