Story Time:
So my guest came into the salon not wearing a mask. I met her in the reception area where I explained that I have family members going through cancer treatment, an elderly mother, and a nephew too young to be vaccinated and so I would need her to wear a mask. She refused explaining that masks are very bad for you. I told her that I respected her position but would not be comfortable doing her hair. I said I could recommend a colleague who could accommodate her without a mask and it could possibly be today. She then spent the next 20 minutes “educating “ me on how masks don’t work, the vaccines never worked and actually they are the cause of cancer, the government’s corrupt, the media are corrupt, the truckers were peaceful and on and on. I finally politely interrupted her to say I had to get back to work and wished her well. Ugh!
I find it utterly aggravating that despite respecting her choices being kind and finding a solution for her, she did not respect ME and my safety, comfort and that of my family! Breathing at me at length! Indoors. Maskless. So I tried being kind, patient understanding. The next guest to test me will not be so lucky.

Although I'd rather stay safe than sorry, these new restrictions are going to be really tough on local businesses. With that in mind, I ask you this; if there's a restaurant, pub or coffee shop you truly love, now is the time to order take-out from them, buy a gift card, or take advantage of their patio -- and do it as often as you can. If we don't support our local restaurants, once this is all finally done, we'll have much fewer of them. ❤
