Not every bride wants to be seen online and that’s more than okay. Comfort on your wedding day isn’t negotiable and neither is consent. No recording means no recording. Some of my favorite work will only ever live in her memory and that’s exactly as it should be. My job is to make her feel beautiful and safe in that chair, camera or not.

One of the most important things about bridal makeup artistry is the client’s happiness and satisfaction. Being in client service for over 15 years has taught me how to read facial expressions and body language. And I have used that skill countless of times to gauge how my client’s are feeling about the outcome of their makeup look. Often times, clients may be shy to speak up. But as their makeup artist, I always advocate for them to do so. That’s why consultations are always important! Yes, you can be the best makeup artist. Yes, you have all the education and makeup skills. But if you can’t advocate for your client and translate what the client wants then it is a disservice to the client and the work that you do. Beauty is never a one size fits all. It is multidimensional and can be expressed in many ways. It is important for clients to feel at home, with you and with themselves.
