Float House Victoria

Lots of trades in the room today - mechanical finishing up ventilation, plumbing and fire suppression rough ins complete. We had sometime to clean and sand one of the tanks - ready for polish. Things slowly coming together!

The lights are ON! Phew … 😅 Wiring and framing complete! Sprinkler and plumbing tomorrow. Next week will be finishing the drywall and mudding. Things are coming together … 1/2 way there! Will we be done by August 1st!? 🤔

Fresh hair colour looks amazing - but it needs a little time before your next float. 💜

Please wait until your dye has completely stopped rinsing or leaking out before booking. Even a small amount can stain towels, surfaces, and float pods, and may affect the water for future guests.

A quick test: wash and rinse your hair at home, then check it with a white towel. If there’s no colour transfer, you should be good to float.

Sauna framing complete … a little blocking for benches and other small details tomorrow. Will be ready for drywall and electrical Monday. Getting there!

The walls are nearly complete, and the space is finally starting to feel like real rooms instead of a construction zone. 🔨

The suspended ceiling grid will stay open for now while our remaining trades finish their work, including electrical, mechanical, and fire suppression. That’s all scheduled for next week.

This weekend we’ll be framing the sauna, and if everything stays on schedule, we’ll be installing the cedar by the end of next week. That’s when the transformation really begins.

One step at a time… we’re getting there.

More progress on the framing today. The utility closet wall is up, and the remaining drywall should be finished tomorrow. 🔨

At this stage we’re constantly checking measurements, clearances, and layouts. It’s much easier to catch something now than after everything is finished … the last thing we want is to discover the sauna or cold plunge doesn’t fit! 📏

We’ve been a little quiet the past few days while the drywall crew and framers have been hard at work.

Sometimes the most productive thing you can do is step away for a bit. Rest is just as important as the work itself. If you can’t get into a float tank, a few days camping is a pretty good substitute. 🏕️

Solid day today - even if Canada lost 😞 Blocking competed, insulation done and vapour barrier up on the exterior wall. Some finishing touches tomorrow in preparation for the walls, ceilings and drywall starting Monday. Overall a good day! 👍

Lots of pink insulation today… and blocking for what feels like a million different things.

Progress was a little slower than expected thanks to the reinforced blocking for the shower seat, grab bars, door operator, and all the other details that need to be rock solid before the walls go up.

Tomorrow’s goal is to finish all the walls so drywall can start on Monday. Once that happens, the space is going to look dramatically different
