Updated blood tests show a substantial decline on LDL levels. 3 months of eating vegan. No meat or dairy. Its been challenging but for the most part easy to adapt to and lighter cost wise on the pocket book. Don't get me wrong. I miss my fish and eggs but time will tell where this takes me.
On review of these tests,. Statins are still on the table and were offered. I'm no quitter. I decided to carry on with the vegan way for another 3 months and requested blood tests by December 10 2024. I am going to make one change in my lifestyle by adding Berberine supplementation. (berberine helps support healthy cholesterol levels (serum triglycerides. total LDL). Helps support healthy blood lipid levels.)
Looking at my results my total cholesterol has dropped 1.07mmol/L and the LDL dropped .68mmol/L.
If my progress continues I believe that my levels should be in the normal range by my next 3 month blood test.

Its been awhile since I've posted health and wellness info., So today I want to share my health and wellness update. I recently attended my yearly doctors appointment which was the regular blood tests. To my surprise., My LDL is extremely high., And over the normal range. (its been at this high range with fluctuations over the last 5 years)
My doctor recommended that I start with statins to reduce my cholesterol levels. Honestly I was stunned and searching for another option. I asked if there was anything I could do naturally to reduce my cholesterol. The response was somewhat hopeful but a dyer switch in my eating habits. I was told that the only way to make a change was to go Vegan. What does that mean I thought to myself. I told him I'd do it and was committed to making the change. So here we go.
My doctors appointment was
April 26 2024 and with alot of trial and error. Lots of label reading and understanding I learned that eating vegan means No meat, No dairy, No collagen supplements, No fish, eggs, butter and so on.
On June 10 2024 I begun full on Vegan lifestyle. I'm committed and determined.
On Sept 10 2024 I have booked a check in (blood tests) with my doctor to see what progression has been made. After 3 months of SOLID veganism I'm ready so see my results . The one negative is that it could be genetic. Either way I will have an answer next month. I have attached my initial test results and will post my final results when completed.

Today (Sept 8 2022) would have been My mothers 86th birthday if she lived another year. I sent this text to my children reminding them of their Grandmas birthday!

My daughter quickly responded saying
Happy Birthday Grandma. We’re sending you the Queen.
Children are A blessing.

Distance Coaching health and Personal Training has started all via texting.

Client: Male
Starting weight 209 lbs.
Goal to lose 35 lbs
He sleeps 5.5 hours a night.
water consumption: 0
Pop/Juice consumption: 3-4 a day
Meals consist of starchy carbs with most meals
Supplementation: None
Exercise: Client has been unable to exercise with a injury but now has recovered and ready to get back to the gym and get his health back.

My goal is to support and coach client to make changes to a healthier stronger future with limited emphasis on supplements unless necessary.

After reviewing his 7 day food journal we are implementing small changes. Our first change is eliminating the evening snack of cereal and milk. After one week client felt he managed his first shift. Next was to tackle the pop habit. This would prove to be more challenging as the addiction to the beverage is similar to weening yourself off any other drug including ci******es. Its an ongoing battle for all to understand that pop, juice, dried fruits are equal to sugar in the body. The same can be said with starchy carbohydrates
( Bread, buns ,cake, tortillas, pizza dough, rice, pasta, potatoes, crackers, cereal and any processed foods)

Client has started adding 2-3 cups a water a day. Today he noted that it was the first time his sleep was disturbed to void. Noting that the body is going though many changes and the additional water is aiding the cells to function more efficiently. The body is detoxing. The natural way.

We have increased water intake and this mornings challenge is to drink 3 cups of water before eating or drinking anything. Then adding 1 cup of water before every meal and snack throughout the day.

Next is adding a probiotic to last cup of water in the evening. Our next conversation will be about bowl movements, microbiome and the ideal prebiotics to feed and nourish a healthy gut.

Client is going to the gym on average 2 days a week for 1/2 cardio and conditioning program.
