Day 7 - Tell us why you are participating in Miss & Miss Teen Ontario Regional Canada Scholarship Pageant

I’m competing in the Miss Ontario Regional Canada Pageant because they emphasize the importance of community service, education, public speaking, well-being and the empowerment of young women.

Each titleholder is an ambassador for their community, platforms and the province itself. Having competed last year, I knew right after the pageant ended that I wanted to return and not only finish what I started, but work even harder towards my goal of becoming Miss Ontario.

Being surrounded by intelligent, inspiring, hard-working, philanthropic women was nothing short of refreshing. The sisterhood is unmatched and I am so excited to return not only to the Miss Ontario stage, but to see all of the incredible women I met around this time last year.

3 weeks to go… 🤍

Day 6 - Without sending pics tell us about your evening gown and why you feel it is the one

👗👗👗

My evening gown fit like a glove the second I tried it on! I knew it was the one after I saw how flattering and “on brand” it was for me and it was the one my mom picked out. It’s a gorgeous colour, and of course, has tons of sparkle! And for the style of the gown, the curvy gals are coming 💅🏼

Day 5 - Tell us about your area of representation and why we should go there to visit

I am proudly representing one of the most sought after tourist destinations in Ontario, with 326,000 visitors in 2023 - Prince Edward County!

PEC is known as one of Ontario’s most treasured holiday spots for its world-class wineries, beautiful beaches and boutique accommodations. Tourists visit The County to explore small town antique shops, art galleries and farm-to-table fare.

The 46km Millennium Trail stretches the lengths of PEC, providing adventure for cyclists, hikers and birdwatchers. Prince Edward County is located roughly halfway between Ottawa and Toronto on the eastern shores of Lake Ontario.

Day 3 - Post 2 trivia facts about Miss Ontario

TWO trivia facts about Miss Ontario! ✨

1) The reigning Miss Universe Canada AND Miss World Canada both started at Miss Ontario Regional Canada (previously Miss North Ontario in their respective years)

2) The reigning Miss Ontario Regional Canada, Tia, is the youngest winner in history at just 15 years old at the time of her crowning!

Day 2 - Tell us about your platform

My platform is called The Tomorrow Project! The Tomorrow Project is a mental health podcast I founded in 2021 while I was studying Mental Health & Addictions. I noticed that the majority of social media posts regarding mental health just touched on depression & anxiety. While these are definitely important concerns, there are so many more mental health disorders, triggers, stressors, etc that we don’t often share on social media.

I decided to start my own podcast and have a special guest on each episode discuss their story and experience with any type of mental health disorder or trigger. This can be a learning experience for people watching or a validation of their own story.

We have chatted about postpartum depression, Indigenous mental health, mental health in children, pageantry and modelling effects on mental health, just to name a few. With 20 episodes under my belt, I am super proud of The Tomorrow Project and the positive messages of hope and understanding me and my guests are spreading!

Day 1 - post a 200 word bio about yourself in third person

Hailey is proudly representing one of the most sought after tourist destinations in Ontario, with 326,000 visitors in 2023, Prince Edward County. She is currently a Weekend News Anchor at Cool 100.1 FM & Hits 95.5 FM while simultaneously earning her diploma in Journalism Communications from Loyalist College. During her first year at Loyalist College, she was on Student Government and was the Sideline Reporter for the Loyalist Lancers Men’s Basketball team.

Hailey previously earned her diploma in Mental Health & Addictions (with IPD) from Fleming College, as well as her Life Coach Certificate from IAP Career College in 2023 and had the opportunity to be an intern at a leading addictions agency.

Deeply devoted to ending the stigma surrounding conversations on mental health, Hailey founded The Tomorrow Project in 2021. The Tomorrow Project is a podcast dedicated to spreading awareness on mental health topics and disorders we don’t commonly hear or speak about, giving people hope to see another day. Each episode features a special guest who has personal experience in a particular topic and gives them the opportunity to share their story and knowledge.

As the next titleholder, Hailey plans to continue her podcast and do in-person workshops for mental health awareness.

Returned to one of my favourite appearances over the years, The PEC Period Party!

The PEC Period Party is a community project to raise awareness of period poverty in Prince Edward County and raise funds for essential hygiene products as well as creating a safe space for menstruating people to normalize talking about menstrual health.

Kelly’s Shop in Downtown Picton is doing their donation drive from Feb 15 to March 2nd. Please consider donating menstrual products (pads, tampons, menstrual cups, period underwear, etc) to support the cause ❤️

Having access to safe, clean, hygienic menstrual products is not a privilege, but a human right 🫶🏼

On Wednesday, I had the opportunity to visit my grandmother’s nursing home and hand out hand-made Christmas gifts with homemade gingerbread cookies inside.

We collected paper towel and toilet paper rolls over the course of a few weeks which we wrapped in festive paper and tied with ribbon. Inside we were able to add the decorated gingerbread cookies that the residents could open and find 🎄❄️

(Due to the privacy and consent of other residents and families, we’ve decided not to share any photos taken at the nursing home)

Thank you to Lisa MacDonald and Susan Wilson Genereaux for your help 😁

Hope everyone has a great Christmas! 💚❤️
