Every time this client comes in we go right back to an above the shoulder bob. A little graduation to give volume and lift and this time….we went for purple! She loves the grow out phase of her hair cuts….just playing with the shape as it grows and morphs. 🔥

That’s pretty much how we all feel when we see Dawne’s name on the appointment book.

Dawne and I have some of the BEST conversations. You might occasionally think we’re enemies if you overheard us getting a little too deep into one of our debates 😂… but somehow, we always leave loving each other just as much as when we started. ❤️

And then there’s her fabulous hair.

Dawne LOVES hair colour in a way that keeps me on my toes. She’s always ready to take it up another notch, and I think we both secretly love watching people react to her fabulous hair. 😍

But there’s so much more to this woman than what happens in my chair.

Dawne is out there LIVING her life.

She’s a dog breeder, and dogs are a huge part of her world. She showed and competed with them and now she judges dog shows over the world!

Did I mention that she is also a competitive shooter? I didn’t even know that existed until I met her. She travels the world competing in with groups of her peers.

What a cool life!!! And then her amazing hair!! Always some new challenge to overcome! 🥰

She keeps me on my toes with that too! Between travels, competitions and everything else, I get to hear all about her adventures when she finally lands back in my chair.

Dawne, you are colourful, passionate, wonderfully opinionated, adventurous and completely YOU.

I love our visits, our debates, our laughs and, of course, creating that fabulous hair.

This is my girl Tatiana 🥰. Love love love this human. Cutting and colouring curly hair is just a little different…working with curl pattern, head shape and desired results when cutting gives the shape that really works for your client. Three years ago, I was introduced to a new client.

As we chatted, I asked her how she had found us.

She said, “Believe it or not, my granddaughter’s best friend Amaya told me I should come and see you!”

Then she continued…

“My grandma and my mom both go to see Madi because she is amazing with curly hair.”

And there I was, meeting………. for the first time. ❤️

Three generations.

Three generations of women who had trusted me with their hair — and who had shared their experience with the next person.

I actually wrote this little story down that day because it touched me so much. And I recently came across this old handwritten page again.

It reminded me that what we do behind the chair is about so much more than hair.

It’s about relationships.
It’s about trust.
It’s about being remembered.
And sometimes, it’s about becoming a tiny part of a family’s story.

Three years later, this little note still means just as much to me. ❤️
