Lashes By Brigitte

September 30th, we honour and hold space for Indigenous Peoples, their stories, their strength, and the generations forever impacted by the residential school system.

With Indigenous ancestry within my own family history, I reflect on how the experiences of generations before us can carry forward into the generations of today and those still to come.

Today is about listening, learning, remembering, and continuing the work of reconciliation. 🧡

A little microrealism moment. 🤎 ☕️ 🌿

This is a style I’m still quietly working on and practicing behind the scenes, learning how to create depth, texture and dimension while keeping everything delicate and ohhhh soooo tiny.

Microrealism takes elements of realism and scales them down into a very small space, using fine lines, soft shading and carefully placed details. It’s typically created with very the smallest needle configurations of 1RL and 3RL’s, depending on the detail and shading needed. Tiny needles, tiny movements, lots of friggen patience. ✨

A little life + business update 🤎✨

With all the growth happening at Blink & Ink Beauty, it feels pretty fitting to end 2026 by adding a few more tools to my belt!

I’m so excited to be participating in a 10-week Female Founder program with Yukonstruct, focused on helping me strengthen the behind-the-scenes side of my business because I’ll be the first to admit, that’s often where I need the most help. 😂

I didn’t go to school for business, I went to school for oil & gas and at almost 44, I genuinely LOVE that I’m still learning, growing and figuring things out.

This will mean some schedule changes between now and December 16th, 2026. I’ll be contacting anyone affected personally and adding extra appointment times where I can.

Thank you in advance for being so understanding. 🫶🏼

And… I’ve officially secured someone to build my website too! 🙌🏼

I’m putting so much heart into growing this little business of mine, and I’m incredibly excited for what’s ahead.

More learning. More growth. More building. 🤎
Let’s finish 2026 strong. ✨

Exposing one of my flaws… 🤭

Me: “Ugh, I have literally NO content to post.”
Also me: scrolls back 3,000 photos and discovers an entire archaeological dig of tattoos I did, loved, photographed… and apparently never posted. 💀 🫣

Sitting on a literal gold mine of content while complaining I have no content is very on-brand for me. 😂

Anywho… here’s another tattoo rescued from the depths of my camera roll. 🤎✨

☀️ You Are My Sunshine ☀️

Such a sweet little tattoo with a whole lot of meaning behind it. 🤍

I’ve been singing “You Are My Sunshine” to my daughter since the day she was born, just like my mom sang it to me and my sisters. There’s something so special about the way this little song gets passed down through generations and I know it holds such a sentimental place in so many people’s hearts. 🥹 💕

Fun fact: Most people don’t actually know the true meaning behind “You Are My Sunshine”… 👀

Do you? Comment below if you know what the song is really about!
