Hi everyone! Big update👇🏻
Effective April 1st, 2026, I will no longer be at . This was a decision made of mutual respect between both parties. My final scheduled day at Elevate will be March 27th, 2026. I am already about half full. Please book ahead.
My new clinical setting will be at . I will continue to work 5 days a week, however my clinical hours have shifted slightly to accommodate a shared space:
Monday: 2-7pm
Tuesday: 1-6:30pm
Wednesday: 12-5pm
Thursday: 2-7pm
Friday: OFF
Saturday (month of April ONLY): 11-2pm
After April, my Saturday hours will shift to 9:30-12:30pm.
This new clinic is located at 4-1540 McDougall Street.
There is no administration on-site and you are welcome to stay in your car until the front door is unlocked. Unfortunately, Shanti does NOT appear in the Maps app, and will come up as Chill Yoga instead (the former business at this address). To avoid confusion, I recommend inputting the address itself into your Maps app. Get off at Howard, go all the way down to Howard and Tecumseh, turn left and turn right at McDougall. Shanti is located on the right hand side, in the same plaza as .
My website will be updated to reflect these changes, and the Elevate team and myself will do our best to contact any clients I have had at Elevate, and ensure they are aware of this upcoming transition. Please contact myself or with any questions you may have.
Thank you to the entire Elevate team for a fantastic year! It has been wonderful to get to know each and every one of you. Thank you for the professional and personal support as well. 🩷
Looking forward to joining the team!! Here’s to a strong remainder of 2026!
Please continue to check stories for any upcoming changes or information regarding this transition.
With love,
D.

Do you sometimes struggle with a sore jaw or neck after pilates? Hey, me too! 👋🏻
That’s ok! We might just need to do things a little differently and modify our current technique or posture.
As apart of a Special Populations presentation for , I have been asked to create a marketing piece. Well, I already know my demographic: my current TMJD/TMD client base or anyone perhaps struggling with acute or chronic jaw /neck issues!

Yo Dana, how do I modify during a class?
*cue the breath*
That is, by far, the best verbal cue that could be utilized in a single Pilates class. When we check in with our body, we are able to take that extra second or two and do a full body scan. See where we’re holding. I cue my clients in my practice the exact same. Let’s do this one together. 10 Easy Steps. Here we go:
1)Check in on yourself. Where are you holding tension? Visualize it.
2) Find the breath. Deep belly breath. Inhale, feeling the ribs expand. Exhale, letting it all out. Maybe we’re feeling a little softer?
3) Begin to gently bring the tip of your tongue to the roof of your mouth (imagine a light suction), then allow the jaw to gently drop. This might take a little mental jenga-ing because we’re so often clenching or grinding throughout the day!
4)Slightly rock the head back and forth a few times and come back into neutral.
5) Tuck the chin in just a bit. Maybe we bring a finger to the chin and gently press, finding more neutral alignment.
6) Makes two fists and place one on each cheek. Verrrrry gently drag down the length of the cheek as you open and close your jaw
7) Bring the heels of your hands above your ears and make circles opening and closing the jaw
8) Keep that headrest at its lowest level
9) Sighhhhhhh out your day through your mouth, creating a gentle circle with your lips
10) Lower those shoulders. The traps can take a break!!
Pilates is a low impact way to help improve posture, stability and strength, and that certainly extends to the jaw!!!😁
Always consult with your healthcare practitioner beforehand🩷
