🧼 CAUSTIC SODA: THE INGREDIENT THAT MAKES SOAP POSSIBLE

One of the most common questions we hear is:

"If soap is made with caustic soda, is it still safe to use?"

The answer is yes—and here's why.

Caustic Soda, also known as Sodium Hydroxide (NaOH), is an essential ingredient used to create true soap. When it is combined with oils in precise amounts, a chemical reaction called saponification occurs.

During saponification, the oils and caustic soda transform into soap and glycerin. Without this reaction, traditional soap simply wouldn't exist.

✨ Why is it used?
✔ Converts oils into soap
✔ Creates the cleansing properties that lift away dirt and oils
✔ Produces the rich lather and cleansing action we expect from soap

Many people are surprised to learn that properly made soap does not contain active caustic soda. When the soap-making process is complete and the recipe is properly formulated, the caustic soda has been fully consumed during saponification, leaving behind the finished soap.

At Pure Wash, every batch is carefully measured, formulated, and quality checked to ensure a safe, effective, and skin-loving final product.

Understanding the ingredients behind your skincare helps you make informed choices—and we're always happy to share what goes into creating the products you use every day. 💚

When skincare feels rushed, it becomes something you skip.

But when you slow it down, it becomes something you look forward to—and that consistency is what creates results.

Your routine doesn’t need to be complicated to be effective. It just needs to be intentional.

Try turning small moments into a ritual:

• Be present while you cleanse
• Take in the scents and textures
• Stay consistent, even on busy days

It’s not just about better skin—it’s about creating time for yourself, too ✨
