Cancer does not discriminate.

While my own cancer journey wasn’t skin cancer, it forever changed the way I view health, prevention, and the importance of not taking our bodies for granted.

Many years ago, following the stillbirth of my full-term son, I was diagnosed with choriocarcinoma, a rare and aggressive cancer. It was a chapter of my life that shaped me in ways I never could have imagined.

Cancer leaves its mark.

It changes how you think.
It changes what matters.
It changes how you care for yourself and the people around you.

Survivorship comes with gratitude, fear, strength, uncertainty, hope and guilt, all existing at the same time.

And while my story is different from someone facing skin cancer, one thing remains true:

If there is something we can do to reduce risk, educate ourselves, and make healthier choices, it matters.

That is one of the reasons I am so passionate about UV-free tanning and obsessed with spray tans!
