Ukrainian Dancing like you've never seen it before... Verba's mandate is to share with you the stories, passion, and traditions that make up a nation. By working with some of the most prolific and creative choreographers in Winnipeg and across Canada, Verba's repertoire utilizes both the grace and athleticism of Ukrainian Dance to submerge the audience into the heart of Ukrainian Folklore.

Join us TODAY as we commemorate the Holodomor... we are humbled to remember those who perished through dance...

Plan to watch! On November 28 as part of the UCC-MPC Holodomor Commemorations we will be re-broadcasting Verba Dance Ensemble's 2013 originally choreographed Holodomor commemoration presentation.

The production was choreographed by Claire Marshall and Marijka Stanowych. Included in the presentation are bandura, poetry and video.

Throughout the process the Verba Ensemble members learned about the Holodomor, had group discussions, and shared personal connections to victims of the Holodomor in our families

Watch this page for streaming information or go to the UCC-MPC Youtube channel Ukrainian Canadian Congress - Manitoba Prov Council on November 28 at 2:00PM Winnipeg time.

We are flying into our last rehearsal tonight! πŸ–€ ⁣

NAfro Studio - in Osborne Village, has been our home for many years - we chose a central location as the majority of dancers live nearby, and it’s within walking distance of a few great pubs for after rehearsal beverages... πŸ˜œπŸ‘ŒπŸ»

All good things must come to an end...

After 8 wonderful years of dance, creativity and friendship we have decided that our performances at Folklorama this year on August 8th (Spirit of Ukraine) and August 16th (Ukraine Kyiv Pavillion) will be the last shows for Verba Ukrainian Dance Company. This decision was made with careful consideration and love.

The seed was planted, the tree grew to become something bigger and more beautiful than we ever could have imagined and now the seasons are changing.

Thank you to our long list of supporters, choreographers, alumni and friends who have made all of this possible.

Though the group will step off the stage together August 16th, the Verba tree continues to grow with each one of us and these are friendships that will truly last a lifetime...
