Get to know JANELLE!

We did a Q and A with co-owner Janelle and asked her a few things about her career!

How long have you been working as a hairstylist, and what inspired you to pursue this career?

"I started hair school in 2002 I believe so this year is 21 years! I always wanted to either be a singer (I can’t sing 😂🤣), a doctor, a hairstylist or a “shop keeper” / store owner - I am two of those now 🥹☺️

I just had a knack for makeup and hair from a young age, I could never get enough makeup, I always was doing makeovers on people. Before I even entered hair school I was cutting and colouring my friends and family’s hair. At that time, I think I entered the industry just cause I loved it and was already doing it."

What is your favorite part about being a hairstylist?

"I love helping people to see the beauty in themselves, to feel confident and beautiful in the look they are putting out there. Nothing makes me happier than helping someone to feel great about themselves."

Are there any particular hair trends or styles that you enjoy creating the most?

"My specialties are color and styling and I love everything about both immensely. I love to colour beautiful lived in looks that look great for whatever my guest’s recall timeline is.

And I love doing a beautiful blow out for a guest. I think it’s such a luxury service that many people cannot do on their own (I can’t, but my Amika Blow Dry Brush gets me close!!) I like treating people to something that they cannot do on their own, that will last them multiple days.

So I am especially loving that the 90s blowouts and haircuts with tons of layers are coming back with a vengeance!"
