Always be mindful of the ways you talk to and about yourself…are minds are always listening
Your Brain Is Listening to What You Believe About Yourself
There’s a fascinating psychological principle called the Rosenthal Effect (also known as the Pygmalion Effect).
In a famous study by psychologist Robert Rosenthal and Lenore Jacobson (1968), teachers were told that certain students in their class were expected to show exceptional intellectual growth that year.
The twist?
Those students had actually been randomly selected.
Yet by the end of the year, those very students performed better than their peers.
Nothing about their intelligence changed.
What changed were the expectations around them.
When people expect someone to succeed, they tend to offer more encouragement, more patience, and more opportunity. Over time, those subtle differences influence performance.
We see a version of this every day in hypnotherapy and belief repatterning.
Many people carry subconscious expectations like:
“I’m not good enough.”
“I always mess things up.”
“Things never work out for me.”
And the brain quietly organizes experiences around those expectations.
But when those beliefs begin to shift, something interesting happens. The brain starts noticing different opportunities, responding differently, and creating new patterns.
In other words…
Sometimes the most powerful change in therapy is not learning something new.
It’s updating what the subconscious mind expects to be possible.
Your brain is always listening to the story you tell about yourself.
The question is…
Is that story helping you grow, or holding you back?

Hypnotherapy is beneficial for so many things. It is gentle and highly effective at addressing issues that may not have responded to other forms of therapy
You know what?
Hypnotherapy isn't just therapy to help you heal from trauma or make permanent, positive changes to the way you think, feel, and live. it's good for your brain, too!
🔬One of the intriguing aspects of hypnosis is its impact on the body’s biochemistry, specifically the hormones, chemicals, and neurotransmitters that are produced during the hypnotic state. These are often referred to as "The Happiness D.O.S.E". Our successful graduates know how to maximize these benefits with techniques curated for the individual client.
👩🎓Read on to learn more!
🧠Dopamine: This neurotransmitter plays a critical role in the brain’s reward system. Studies have revealed that hypnosis can enhance dopamine release, which may improve mood and create a sense of euphoria (Kirsch, 1999). This elevation of dopamine levels during hypnosis can contribute to increased motivation, more confidence, and higher self-esteem after sessions.
🧠Oxytocin: Often called the “love hormone,” oxytocin is associated with social bonding and trust. Some studies suggest that hypnosis can enhance oxytocin release, which may facilitate a stronger awareness of what's going right and increased self-love (Keltner et al., 2001).
🧠Serotonin: Known as the “feel-good” neurotransmitter, serotonin levels are also influenced during hypnosis. Increased serotonin is associated with improved mood and emotional stability, making hypnosis a valuable tool for those dealing with depression or anxiety (Hirsch et al., 2013).
🧠Endorphins: These natural pain relievers are often released during hypnosis. Research indicates that hypnosis can increase endorphin levels, which could, in turn, alleviate chronic pain and improve overall well-being (Hawkins et al., 2000).
🧠BONUS🧠
🧪Often referred to as the stress hormone, cortisol levels can be modulated during hypnosis. Research indicates that hypnosis can lead to a decrease in cortisol levels, which may help reduce stress and promote relaxation (Hammond, 2007). This reduction can diffuse the intensity of stress and anxiety. Clients report they feel more positive and find it easier to regulate emotionally after hypnotherapy sessions.
🧠If you've read this far, you now know why people who have overcome life challenges with the help of a clinical hypnotherapist return periodically as a part of their preventative mental health care.
It feels soooo good!

Our power lies in the space between…hypnotherapy is highly effective at slowing down those automatic protective responses of the mind to allow the body and mind to slow down to choose the desired response, instead of reactivity.
