A lot of people having been wishing me a happy 1st Mother’s Day but the truth is
For the past 14 mothers days I’ve longed for a child. For 8 of those years I’ve made it through Mother’s Day as a mother with no child. I was blessed to have an easy pregnancy. I was blessed to have a baby who took my symptoms away. I was blessed to have a trauma-free birth. I was blessed with a healthy baby and I am blessed to have chosen a man who is a great dad and the most supportive partner.

Pregnancy and motherhood has changed me in every way possible- for the better. There is no feeling more powerful than pulling a child you grew, out of your own body.

They say the days are long but the months fly by, and they aren’t wrong. Doing my best to be fully present and enjoy every moment - even when she’s screaming and ripping my hair out. There is a different way you move through the tough moments when you have longed for a child.

No matter how many years go by I will never forget the feelings of navigating loss, grief and sadness every year with a smile on my face. Desperate to be a part of the elusive motherhood club. Crying in the car before going to baby showers wondering if I would ever have one of my own. This day will always be a day I hold hope for every mother who publicly or in silence is wishing, hoping and waiting. I see you and sit with you today.

Motherhood, at every stage tests you mind, body and spirit in ways I’ve never imagined. I’ll never forget the past but I’ve never been so happy and so fulfilled. What do you do when you get everything you ever wanted? Bask in the love and gratitude of it all! And to all the pregnant moms and new moms… welcome to the ‘hood 💕

5 years of knowing you … I remember getting ready for our first date and telling my friend “this guy doesn’t know it yet but I’m going to be his next girlfriend.” Little did I know that after 5 years we would have a home, a pup and a baby on the way and I’d be your wife.
