The first week back is done. Somebody in your house made that happen.
They found the shoes. They signed the forms, packed the lunches, learned the new bus route and remembered which day is gym day. They have not properly sat down since August.
A Pure Escape gift card is one hour where nobody needs anything from them. No decisions, no phone, no one calling their name from another room.
Available in clinic and online, any amount. It can be used on any service — massage, osteopathy, reflexology.
Tag the parent who got everyone out the door on time this week. They will know why.

A lot of people book a massage for their back when the problem is not the muscle at all.
Massage works on tissue — it releases what is tight, sore and overworked. Manual osteopathy works one level up: how the joints, pelvis, ribs and spine move together, and which part has quietly stopped doing its share.
That difference matters. If a muscle is tight because a hip is not moving properly, releasing the muscle feels wonderful on the table and the pain is back by Thursday. Treat the movement, and the muscle stops having to fight.
An osteopathy assessment at Pure Escape starts with watching how you actually move, not with a pressure preference.
Where does your pain always come back? Tell us in the comments — we read every one.

Sitting doesn't just hurt your back. It's quietly shortening the back of your thighs right now.
Tight hamstrings pull on your pelvis, which pulls on your lower back — which is why so many "back problems" are actually leg problems. Stretching alone rarely fixes it once the tissue has been short for years.
Deep hamstring release is the step most people skip. It's often the one that finally works.

Your spine has a twin — and it lives on the inside edge of your foot.
The reflexology spine line mirrors your actual spine: the heel corresponds to your tailbone, the big toe to your neck, and everything in between maps in order. Working it from heel to toe is like running a hand down your whole back without touching it.

September is coming for all of us.
Teachers are about to walk into the busiest six weeks of their year. Parents are about to run the morning gauntlet again. And everyone who spent August pretending the summer wouldn't end is now looking at a calendar.
This is the week to book — before the September rush fills every evening slot we have.
And if you know a teacher: a gift card right now lands differently than one in December. They'll remember who thought of them before the year started, not after it broke them.

Where massage stops, needles continue.
Massage releases the muscle. Acupuncture works the nervous system and the meridian pathways underneath it. Combined in one session, they reach things neither does alone — especially for chronic pain that keeps coming back after every massage.
If you've ever left a massage feeling great for two days and then right back where you started, this combination is worth a conversation.

That heavy-leg feeling at 9 PM isn't just tiredness. It's your calves asking for help.
If you're on your feet all day — nursing, retail, trades, teaching — the calf muscles stay contracted for hours. Circulation slows, the muscle stiffens, and by evening your legs feel like they weigh twice as much.
Deep calf work releases it properly. Most people are shocked at how much lighter they walk out.

Your feet hold a map of your entire body — and the head zone sits right at your toes.
Reflexology works on a simple principle: specific points on the foot correspond to specific systems in the body. Press the right point with the right pressure, and tension releases somewhere you weren't even touching.
This is the point we use for tension headaches. Part 1 of 4 in our foot map series — save this one.

Let's settle this one, because our therapists argue about it too.
"No pain, no gain" is the most common belief we hear about massage. Half our clients ask us to go harder, convinced that if it doesn't hurt, it isn't working. The other half leave sore for three days and quietly never come back.
Here's the honest professional answer: productive discomfort is real — that deep ache when a tight spot finally releases. But sharp, guarding, teeth-clenching pain is not therapy. It makes the muscle tense up to protect itself, which is the exact opposite of the goal.
A good therapist works at the edge, not past it. And you should always be able to breathe normally.
But we're genuinely curious what you think.
💬 Team "go harder, I can take it" or team "gentle and I'll actually relax"? Tell us below — and tell us why. We read every comment.

Candles get re-gifted. Bath sets sit in a cupboard. Nobody has ever returned a massage.
A Pure Escape gift card is the one present that gets used — usually within two weeks, usually by someone who badly needed it and would never have booked it for themselves.
That's the real reason to give one: most people won't spend an hour on themselves unless somebody hands them permission.
