There’s a challenge that comes with being a Stylist in Canada 🇨🇦
No that’s not meant to be funny, it’s an actual ‘thing’ that affects our ability to access the products and tools we need. This often happens with new products, and most definitely products in the hair extension space.
Remember a while ago when we were talking about a different extension technique that allowed us to fill in density directly on the hairline, crown and everywhere traditional extensions couldn’t be installed? It was called Combline.
Have you noticed we haven’t been talking about it very much anymore? 🤔
We wanted to BUT the company stopped supplying the very thing that made this service unique - the adhesive. First for everyone, and now still for 🇨🇦 (With zero communication about it I might add 🤪)
I just can’t make it make sense. 🤷🏼♀️
The foils we needed for the new Scalp Foil technique the girls learned in Arizona? Not sold in Canada.
Curly hair extensions? We have one quality option with 1 curl type in Canada and as expected, it’s always on backorder.
This isn’t meant as a negative post, more as awareness that as an industry we still have a very long way to go.
Rest assured we are always working hard to find ways to bring you the latest and the best in everything we possibly can! 😘

Imagine if your extensions didn’t come from a package. Imagine if your Stylist took your natural hair and made a blueprint for the extensions you need. Customized density, bond colour, hair colour, growth patterns, everything created from scratch for YOU.
Do all Stylists do this?! No.
Do all Clients need this?! No.
Is it a skill that takes a lot of practice?! 100% Yes.
The Stylists that do this are the ones trying to solve a problem for a particular client. They aren’t against factory made bonds, they just accept they don’t work for every client.
So when you see a Stylist showing bond making, chances are they got there because they were willing to say ‘I can do more for this client’.
IMO that’s the kind of Stylist you need looking out for you 💯

Straight hair doesn’t lie!!! It will show ANY colour discrepancies 💯
Creating this kind of blend takes patience, placement, technique and a little bit of magic 🪄
Ally brought this client’s dimensional blonde up and at the same time added bold, more solid blonde to the ends with a tipout!
This technique creates the same soft dimension at the root, but depending on how it’s teased, provides a higher concentration of blonde on the ends.
Tipouts are also an amazing tool when a partial foil maintenance service just needs that extra kick. 2 tipouts can completely change the end result of your service. It’s truly that powerful!

The thought may make you cringe a bit but I can tell you without a doubt, I would 100% use THIS adhesive on my natural hair. No question.
Serenity Get a Grip medical grade adhesive is made to adhere polyurethane hair systems to the natural hair SAFELY.
The old rule of having to shave wherever the adhesive would be applied first was a huge barrier for women. What if they aren’t happy with the system? What if it was too hot or uncomfortable or whatever else the reason may be?
If they decided to remove the system that meant wearing a wig or going bare while waiting for their hair to grow back. What a terrible choice for someone already dealing with hair loss to make!
Serenity Get a Grip Adhesive is easily removed from the natural hair with its dedicated oil based remover. Safe for both skin and hair these two products are literally changing hair replacement options women.

If you should’ve been born blonde, you NEED to try Scalp Foils!✨
I have immense love for rooted and lived-in looks for the longevity they offer BUT there’s just something about a maximum impact blonde that steals the show. If it’s extremely well blended that is😉
As you can see in both the wet and dry afters, this blonde is so close to the scalp it looks like it grew out that way.
The best part? Utilizing this technique also allows for a soft grow-out because of how fine the sections are 💯
I know it sounds impossible but just ask Jen! She has a very dark natural and likes to be as blonde as possible. With traditional foils she’s hating her roots in 4-6 weeks, but with scalp foils, it doesn’t even begin to bother her at that point!
Is it a lot of foil? Absolutely.
Does it take a bit longer on some clients? For sure.
