Many people ask us what services are available at Rekindle Health, so we thought we’d share a little more about the care currently offered within our clinic space.
At Rekindle, we believe health and wellness are deeply connected to our physical, mental, emotional, and family wellbeing. Having multiple practitioners and services under one roof allows care to feel more collaborative, connected, and supportive of the whole person. Virtual options are also available for some services so that people who may live in smaller communities across the Territories can access care.
Swipe through to learn more about the services currently available at the clinic.
We’d also love to hear from you...what kinds of services or supports would help you feel more supported in your own health and wellness journey?

Did you know that Polycystic O***y Syndrome (PCOS) is transitioning to Polyendocrine Metabolic Ovarian Syndrome (PMOS)?
At first glance, it might seem like a small change.
But names matter.
The words we use in healthcare shape research, education, diagnosis, and treatment. They influence the questions clinicians ask and how people understand their own health.
The shift from PCOS to PMOS reflects a growing recognition that this condition involves much more than the ovaries.
It also invites a bigger question:
How many of our healthcare terms reflect outdated assumptions about health, disease, and the people living with them?
When we know better, we should do better. Because when we change the language, we often change the questions.
And when we change the questions, we can change the care.
If you live with PCOS/PMOS, what are your thoughts on the name change?

We’re so happy to introduce Erica, our Manager of Operations at Rekindle Health.
If you’ve been in the clinic, you may have already met her. Erica is often one of the first people to welcome you through the door, bringing a calm, steady presence to the space.
While she isn’t always physically in the clinic, Erica is very much behind the scenes—she is the one supporting care coordination, responding to emails, and helping ensure things move smoothly on the other end of our phone and inbox.
She is currently supporting care alongside our naturopathic doctor, locums, and counselling team members, helping connect the pieces so your experience feels seamless from start to finish.
Erica has a background in business administration, along with experience supporting children with complex needs. She brings a calm, thoughtful approach to her work, with a strong attention to detail and a genuine care for the people she is supporting—both patients and practitioners.
If she looks familiar, it might be because she is also the sister of Dr. Kyla Wright ND
She has quickly become an essential part of how this clinic runs—quietly holding so much of what happens behind the scenes.
We’re really grateful to have her here. Please join us in welcoming her officially to the team 💛✨💖
April is PMDD Awareness Month.
What I wish was part of every conversation about PMDD:
PMDD isn’t just “bad PMS.”
It’s a distinct, cyclical condition where symptoms show up in the luteal phase and lift after your period. That pattern matters.
It’s also not the same as anxiety.
Some people have anxiety that worsens before their period. PMDD is different. It’s cyclical, often more intense, and can feel like irritability, low mood, or not feeling like yourself in a way that isn’t there the rest of the month.
This isn’t subtle.
It can affect relationships, work, and day-to-day life.
It’s also not about having too much progesterone.
The evidence, including from the International Association for Premenstrual Disorders, points to how the brain responds to normal hormonal shifts.
And it doesn’t happen in a vacuum.
Chronic stress—and especially experiences like discrimination and racism—are associated with higher risk and more severe symptoms.
The other important piece: it’s treatable.
There are evidence-based options like SSRIs and ovulation suppression. Integrative approaches like CBT, nutrients, and lifestyle can help too, but usually as part of a bigger plan.
For education only, not medical advice. If this resonates, it’s worth talking with a healthcare provider.

Surgical menopause, after removal of the ovaries with or without the uterus, is not a gradual transition.
It is an abrupt loss of estrogen, which can affect symptoms as well as longer term health.
Care during this phase should be intentional, informed, and individualized.
Guidance from the Canadian Menopause Society and the North American Menopause Society highlights that:
▫️Symptoms can be more frequent and more intense, including hot flashes, sleep disruption, and mood or cognitive changes
▫️Early estrogen loss is associated with increased risk of bone loss and cardiovascular disease, particularly when it occurs before the age of natural menopause
▫️For individuals who undergo bilateral oophorectomy before the age of natural menopause, menopause hormone therapy, or MHT, is generally recommended unless contraindicated. This supports both symptom management and longer term health
MHT is not appropriate for everyone.
But decisions should be based on a clear understanding of risks, benefits, timing, and individual health context, not assumptions based on age alone.
A change this abrupt deserves care that keeps up. this is about more than symptoms. It is about your health over time.

We couldn't wait until Monday to share this announcement! We’re really honoured to welcome Cody Erasmus (he/him) to Rekindle Health.
Cody is a Registered Professional Counsellor who offers a calm, grounded presence and a space where you can show up as you are—without pressure, and at your own pace.
He practices from a trauma-informed and culturally safe lens, recognizing that care must honour each person’s story, identity, and experiences. As an Indigenous counsellor, Cody brings an important and meaningful perspective within the northern community, while welcoming people from all backgrounds.
He supports individuals navigating stress, emotional overwhelm, trauma, addictions, and life transitions, and integrates approaches such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, narrative therapy, and somatic-based work—tailored to each person.
Cody also offers life coaching for those seeking clarity, direction, or support in moving forward.
He accepts clients through the Residential Resolution Health Support Program (Indigenous Services Canada), in addition to private bookings.
