I've been working lots in YK1 schools lately. This week I'm helping the students at NJ MacPherson School explore snowshoe hares.

I love the curiosity and excitement when they get a chance to help with the skinning or the cutting of the meat. So grateful to be asked to do this work.

This week, I've been hanging out in the wall tent at École Įtłʼǫ̀ sharing about beavers. Over the course of two days, fifteen classes came through to visit with me and explore the beaver. We skinned it, harvested the meat for eating, took a good look at all of the organs and learned sooooo much!

At lunch recess today I had almost 40 kiddos join me in the wall tent still excited to look and talk more about beavers. How fun is that?!

Ever grateful for opportunities like this. This Auntie's heart is full!

The Baby Expo is such an awesome event for our community! Thank you to all the volunteers and organizers for all the work you put in. It's so nice spending time with The Northern Birthwork Collective and connecting with past, present and future clients.

When we experience grief, we want others to witness it. This is not because we want them to take our pain away or ‘fix’ the problem, but instead because we just need someone there with us. We want someone to be present and walk through this experience with us because losing a loved one is devastating, and it should not be treated as a problem to solve. Sometime having the grief witnessed is best help we can receive.

I love my Doula Deck. I sometimes will pull a random card and share with my pregnant clients.

I've been attending the biweekly health cafes at the Yellowknife Women's Centre with some Northern Birthwork Collective colleagues and other NTHSSA folks. They offer a free breakfast, an arts workshop and open discussions with health care providers.

Today the art project was water colour holiday cards. We painted and chatted and enjoyed yummy catering from Javaroma. Really proud to be invited to some of these sessions. Here are the cards I made. ☃️
