🧡I feel like as an indigenous person we take a moment to remember, pray, and think about our ancestors hardships almost daily.

🧡However this month, we want to make it more personal to our family;

🧡If it wasn't for the resilience of our Matriarch, Marceline Vera Shingoose, Kathy & Alicia would not exist.

🧡Everyday I thank the creator that she had the strength and resilience to stay on this earth.

🧡She did not talk about it much with us but I remember one specific statement she made. "I don't know how they could have preached god with the things they did to us."

🫂My Koko Marceline was the funniest, blunt, honest and straight forward woman. She always had a swift comment, maybe not always kind but she called it like it is.

🧡I've been finding a lot of her unfinished craft projects within some of my stuff. This is the year I may finish them for her.

11 years since we lost her. I love and miss her dearly. I often regret spending that last few years of her life drowning in my own sorrows. However I feel her in my presence lots now. She walks with me and many of her loved ones. She works hard behind the scenes to help us 🧡
