JK Police drug de addiction and rehabilitation centre Eidgah, Srinagar /YDRC today commemorated the International Day against Drug abuse and illicit trafficking .
The program started with the welcome note by the Director, Youth Development and rehabilitation Centre Dr. Mohd. Muzafer Khan who welcomed the guests.
The occasion was graced by the Chief Guest,Shri Peer Zahoor Ahmad Superintendent of Police SO to DIG CKR. The dignitaries present were Shri.Showkat Ahmad SP North ,Shri Junaid Wali SDPO khanyar ,Shri Mohamad Shafi Admanistrative Officer & Shri Showkat Ahmad Private secretary to DIG CKR.
Mr. Ishfaq Qureshi ( Mental Health Counselor YDRC) presented a beautifully crafted presentation taking participants to the journey of YDRC throwing light on the Prevention, Treatment, Education and Training provided by the YDRC since it's inception in year 2008.
Ms. Rumaisa ( Mental Health Counselor) gave a presentation on this year's theme of international Drug day Breaking the chains, Prevention, Treatment and Recovery for All.

SP North,Shri Mr.Showkat Ahmad provided valuable insights to the participiants about the ill effects of drugs. He lauded the efforts of YDRC and it's team for the efforts that have been putting in for the last 18 years.
Chief Guest Shri Peer Zahoor Ahmad SO to DIG CKR in his lecture deliberated on the prevention of Drug addiction and made a humble appeal to be proactive in saving the lives of people.
Various Participants also talked about the devastating effects of Drug addiction and were thankful to the YDRC, it's team and the affordable facility of YDRC. Recovered and Inpatients talked about their journey to Recovery.
The program concluded by the vote of thanks by the Director YDRC, Dr. Muzafer Khan.

On the invitation of Social Welfare Department Pulwama, Counseling Psychologist Youth development and Rehabilitation centre (YDRC) Eidgah Srinagar Mr. Ishfaq Nabi Qureshi delivered a thoughtful lecture on Present Scenario of Drug Addiction in Kashmir in a Mega Event held at Dak Bagalow Pulwama organised by District Social Welfare Department Pulwama on 12/11/2024. Mr. Ishfaq also provided valuable insights into the multidisciplinary approach of prevention. The program was a comprehensive one where various speakers from different domains provided their valuable insights. Mr. Ishfaq Qureshi's insights were well appreciated by the organisers and participants which included HOI's of various institutions. We are thankful for the invitation and committed to the prevention and treatment of SUD/Drugaddiction.

Today on 06/11/2024 Students and Professors of Department of Psychiatric Social Work ,Govt. Degree College Baramulla visited YDRC Eidgah Srinagar for a comprehensive program on Substance Use Disorder ( Drug Abuse).The program included presentations, lectures , Q & A sessions and interaction with the patients.
Counseling Psychologist Ms.Tabinda presented a detailed overview of SUD and also highlighted the present scenario of SUD in Kashmir.
Counseling Psychologist Mr. Ishfaq Nabi Qureshi engaged the students in his lecture on various challenges in SUD. He also highlighted the Risk and Protective factors in SUD.
Dr. Mohammad Muzafer Khan ( Director YDRC) shared his valuable insights on signs and symptoms of SUD and highlighted the importance of providing the students the opportunity to learn and gain awareness on SUD.
A Question and Answer Session was held where the queries of students were answered by Ms.Tabinda and Mr.ishfaq. The students and Professors also had interaction with the patients.
