There are very few people outside the field of dermatology who are aware of how abrasive the majority of fabric materials can be to the face, even natural fabrics like cotton. At night as your face rests against your pillow, this thin, delicate skin is exposed for a long period of time to the material of your pillowcase. With most other fabrics, the act of constantly compressing your face as you sleep will eventually begin to leave impressions. Over time these impressions may turn into permanent wrinkles. In an ideal world, we would all sleep face up, never needing to think about speeding up the aging process while we are resting. Fortunately, for those of us who don't live in an ideal world, there is an alternative: sleeping on silk. Silk is a natural, breathable fabric recognized for its kindness to the aging process. It is also hypoallergenic by nature, so there is no risk of sensitivity.

9. Stop smoking.
Collagen is produced naturally by the body and aids in plumping up the skin, which helps to keep wrinkles and sagging at bay. While we are young and healthy, collagen continues to break down and regenerate. As we age this process slows, enabling wrinkles to creep into the depressions left unfilled by new collagen growth. Research has shown that collagen production is stunted in smokers, speeding up the onset of visible signs of aging.

10. Find someone you trust to watch over your skin and get a deeper skin peel once a month.

EYELASH EXTENSIONS
Avoid water and cleansers around the eye area for the first 24 hours after your procedure.

Avoid products containing PEGs (polyethylene glycol), propylene glycol, and propylene carbonate. These ingredients have the ability to break down adhesives- shortening the longevity of your lash extensions.

Avoid curling your lashes. Extensions come pre-curled and any extra curling may cause damage.

Avoid rubbing your eyes or pulling on your extensions as this can cause shedding.

Ensure cleansers and make-up are oil-free (including mascara and eyeliner) and always remove eye make-up gently.

Waterproof mascara is not recommended, however, do gently run a mascara wand through your eyelash extensions daily.

LASER HAIR REMOVAL

Immediately following your treatment you may experience redness and bumps at the treatment area, which may last for up to 2 hours. It is normal for the treated area to feel like a sunburn for a few hours. A cold compress can be used if needed, and Aloe may be used to treat any discomfort.

Makeup may be used after your treatment. Make sure to use a moisturizer under your makeup; this will help exfoliate dead hair from the follicle. Use your moisturizer frequently and freely on the treated area.

Avoid sun exposure for at least 72 hours before and after your treatment to reduce the chance of dark or light spots, and make sure to wear SPF 25 or higher.

Avoid picking or scratching at treated skin. Do not use any other hair removal methods or products on the treated area during the course of your laser treatments, as this will prevent you from achieving the best results. Shaving is the best option at this time. Always shave the area to be treated prior to your appointment.

You may shower after the laser treatments and use soap, deodorant, etc. The treated area should be washed with mild soap and patted dry.

Shedding of hair may occur within 5-30 days. While this appears to be new hair growth, it is dead hair pushing its way out of the follicle. A light exfoliation may aid in this process.

Hair re-growth takes place at different rates on different area of the body. Stubbles, representing dead hair being shed from the follicle, will appear within 10-20 days from the treatment date. This is normal and will fall out quickly.

For maximum results, try to book appointments monthly.

BOTOX® / XEOMIN® / DERMAL FILLERS
PLEASE NOTE: Do not take NSAID’s (nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs), anti-inflammatories, Vitamin E, or drink alcohol the day before any injectable treatment. This is to ensure that you don’t experience any excessive bleeding or bruising during or after your treatment.

Minor bruising and localized swelling at the injection site may occur. Apply a light, cool compress to the injection site immediately after your treatment to reduce bruising and swelling. You may continue to use a cool compress for up to 24 hours after your treatment. Do not apply ice directly onto your skin.

A cold compress may be used to reduce discomfort after lip injections, however, this can increase swelling on the lips.

Do not massage injection areas for at least 24-36 hours.

Avoid heavy lifting, exercise, or strenuous activity for 24 hours.

For Botox® and Xeomin® injections, keep your head elevated for 6 hours.

It is recommended that you avoid using make-up for 24 hours after your treatment. If you must, ensure that only new, clean applicators are used.

Make sure that all linens and pillowcases at home are changed prior to sleeping.

Do not allow pets in your bed or near your treatment sites. Pets can introduce bacteria to the area.

You will usually notice around day 3 - 7 if bacteria is present. The treated area will feel hot to the touch, will appear red, and can sometimes appear flaky. If these signs occur, please call us immediately.

Botox® and Xeomin® results take effect within 7 days. Maximum results are typically visible within 7-10 days. If you feel like your treatment isn't working after 7 days, you have until day 14 to schedule a revision. After day 14, any injection will be considered a new treatment and billed accordingly.

Dermal Filler corrections typically happen between days 5 - 7. We have small syringes priced at $100 that are used for minor corrections
