Understanding Baking Powder versus Baking Soda
How they work in our baking needs.

1. Baking Soda (Sodium Bicarbonate):

How it works:
When baking soda encounters an acid (like yogurt, lemon juice, or vinegar) in a recipe, a chemical reaction occurs. Carbon dioxide gas is released, causing the dough or batter to rise. This reaction happens quickly, so it's essential to bake your goods immediately after mixing.
Common uses:

2. Baking Powder:

How it works:
Single-acting baking powder releases carbon dioxide gas as soon as it's mixed with liquid and acid in a recipe.

A closer look between corn starch and corn flour
What’s the difference and how to use them.
Cornstarch
Cornstarch is made from the starchy endosperm of corn kernels. It is processed by removing the protein and fiber from the corn kernel. It is white and has the consistency of fine powder.
Corn flour
Corn flour, also known as maize flour, is made by drying and grinding whole corn kernels. It has a somewhat golden tint and can be thick or thin in texture.
What are the nutritional profiles of cornstarch vs. corn flour?
Since corn flour is less refined, it contains more protein, fiber, starch, vitamins, and minerals than cornstarch, which is mainly made up of carbs.
What are differences in flavor, consistency, and uses of cornstarch vs. corn flour?
Flavor
Cornstarch has a neutral flavor, which can be seen as an advantage because it is often used as a thickening agent without interfering with the flavor of other foods.
Corn flour has a sweet, nutty, grassy flavor similar to corn.
Consistency
Cornstarch is considerably finer in texture than corn flour and has the consistency of baking powder.
Corn flour has a texture similar to that of whole wheat flour.
Uses

Can I use corn flour in place of cornstarch and vice versa?

Day 2 of my training saw us doing baked Fishpie and peanuts
It was great.
After this I had to try it at home

So my first day in Class I had to watch my teacher shape and crumbcode 1 cake and I did the others and cover with foundant.
It was such and amazing experience.
Though not easy on day 1, I am gradually picking up.

When was the last time you had this Delicacy??
Most of us it’s since our childhood but I had to revisit this days ago.
𝙸𝙽𝙶𝚁𝙴𝙳𝙸𝙴𝙽𝚃𝚂
Beans of your choice
Fresh tomato 🍅
Onion 🧅
Pepper 🌶
Garlic 🧄
Njinger
Contri onion
Parsley 🌿
Celery
Smoked fish
Cow skin
Salt and maggi to taste.
Sweet potato 🍠
After measuring the quantity of beans you want to cook, select wash and boil for 15mins then throw the water.
Start boiling again and this time put salt to taste and boil till it’s tender.
Wash and slice all the vegetables you will use
Wash peel grind or blend your spices
On medium heat preheat the oil
Fry your onion then add the sliced or blended tomato. While it’s on fire 🔥 peel wash your sweet potato and stand on fire. Cook with a pinch of salt for abot 15mins
Fry for a while add your canda and smoked fish. When the sauce is no longer sour add you spices and allow to simmer for 5mins
Add your washed beans, maggi to taste. Let it bowl for 5mins.
Then your meal is ready
Serve it and enjoy your meal
