The PTE certificate assesses English language proficiency for non-native speakers, focusing on listening, reading, speaking, and writing skills. It's widely recognized for academic and immigration purposes, ensuring effective communication.

My tips for PTE:

1. Don't start the exam if you're not fully satisfied with the volume and tone of your voice during mic test. If you need assistance, do not hesitate to raise your hand. PTEMagic showed the right way to wear your headset. Many fail the Speaking test because of weak audio recording. We dont wanna waste our fee just because we forgot this simple task.

2. Practice a full mock exam in a coffee shop/restaurant because the testing center will be a bit noisy during the speaking test. So you need to get used to listening playbacks and recording in english (having no hesitation) in a chatty environment.

3. PTEMagic also explained that you don't need to memorize all the words in Repeat Sentence. I didn't really complete 100% of the words, but my speaking score is 90 because of fluency in each one. Accent and fluency are different. You can be fluent regardless of your accent. Btw, anticipate some of the Indian accent in Repeat Sentence.

4. You have to be physically ready. If you need to p*e before the exam, please do so. Dont take the exam hungry or thirsty. I had headache during the exam that caused some delays in my reading comprehension, which is variously successive.

5. Speak with higher pitch than your usual. The ideal pitch range for females should be around 200-240Hz, for males is 160-180Hz. There are available apps for you to measure your pitch.

6. Vocabulary, vocabulary, vocabulary. Watch your singular & plural form of verbs and nouns. Use compound and passive sentences. Pick appropriate adjectives used on certain topics. Be familiar with common synonyms. Use well-used collocations. Always check your spelling. Use modal verbs for future tense. Avoid contractions and figures of sp*ech. Use conjunctions between succeeding sentences within a paragraph and say "Overall" or "Finally" on your summary/final sentence.

7. English in PTE is more on daily used information like in news, articles, publicly accessible research and books, bulletins, interviews, etc. You need to already have years of reading and watching such materials. No review center can quickly transform you into a native english speaker (I actually did not enroll in one but I just subscribed, more on self-study only). Watch english movies (less action movies) without subtitles and try to understand the conversations. In addition, if you have the habit of praying everyday like me, pray in English about anything so you can speak privately while practicing your english, plus with God himself is listening 🙏.

8. Practice writing notes with a sharp*e on laminated pad. You should be able to read your own fast handwriting while using those. There was a time I stuttered because I can't read some words I myself wrote.

9. Do two to three mock tests per week. At least a month of practice is 👍. Rest a day before test date so you won't get sick. Cramming on templates may work but you might forget them because of time constraint. You may need to quickly switch to words you instantly remember aside from your template, which is ok if you could say them fluently.

10. Know your weakest part of the exam. Focus on them esp during the last days before your test date. Memorize only those templates you are comfortable with and do not force yourself on one.
