On this world kidney day, practice these tips for healthy kidneys:
• Drink plenty of fluid. Aim for at least 2.5 litres of water/day.
• Increase fluid intake through diluted fruit juice, fruit and herbal tea and low-spiced soups
• Enjoy fruits and vegetables, especially water rich ones such as watermelon, cucumber, orange, grapes, berries etc.
• Reduce salt and sugar intake
• Reduce protein intake
• Monitor your weight and blood pressure
• Use medication with caution
• Take a kidney cleansing drink once a month
• Exercise regularly
• Go for regular check up
