I started my audiology journey In July 2022.. Everyday When going for work i’ll find these Aunties doing morning physical exercises. they never missed even a single day. I was just passing them as strangers. it was in my early third year when we started talking. Everytime am passing we will greet each other with smiles. They even know my names. They became my best friends. one day I took my precious time to go take pics with them. I printed down the pics and give them as a present.

These aunties’s everyday physical exercises routines always remind me the importance of discipline and remaining consistent in life. (Success isn’t always about greatness. It’s about consistency. Consistent hard work leads to success.” – Dwayne Johnson, 2024).

Every week, we hold regular meetings to discuss study-related questions and research updates. These meetings are essential for collaboration, maintaining research quality, tracking progress, and enhancing skills, all of which contribute to meaningful advancements in our audiology study. 🤝🤝💌

“The more that you learn, the more you realize how much you don’t know.” Professor Wang Yonghua, my supervisor, despite his busy schedule, invited Dr. Zheng Huili (Ph.D. in Audiology from the University of Hong Kong), my college senior. She shared key insights on research related to her research questions. We had a productive session with an exchange of thoughts.

I’m forever grateful to Professor Wang and to all the teachers for always providing learning opportunities and for Creating a learning environment crucial for our education growth…

Last weekend, I took a trip to Pingxiang(Jiangxi province) and Longyou. While I was there, I met some people who had different types and degrees of hearing loss.

There was one man who was wearing our Hui’er hearing aid. He came to see me for a hearing check-up.
He then told me about something interesting. He said hearing aids has been really helpful for him. For many years, he has been singing along with one of his favorite songs. But after he started using the Hui’er hearing aid, he realized that he had been singing the wrong lyrics. The reason for this was his hearing loss…

Yesterday, a father brought his 5 - month - old baby to our Hui’er hearing clinic. The baby has hearing loss in both ears. The right ear has a 60dB and the left ear has a 65dB. After doing an audiology test, we found that the only way to help the baby with her hearing loss is to use hearing aids.

Then the father asked, *“What will happen if the baby doesn’t wear hearing aids?”*

—If the baby doesn’t wear hearing aids, there will be negative impacts, one of it is language development, the baby will be slow in learning to talk and have trouble hearing and communicating. For Socially and emotionally, the baby might feel left out, have problems getting along with others, and might not develop emotions right. For school and thinking, the baby will find it hard to learn and the brain won’t develop as well. So, it’s really important for the baby to wear hearing aids.
