From wine tastings and conversations around the table to a proper serving of moussaka, it was a great opportunity to share Greece’s food and wine culture with a new audience. 🍇🫒🍽️

A meaningful milestone for Elaion. 🌿🫒

At the Hellas Group headquarters in Athens, the team came together for the signing ceremony marking the purchase of new olive land for Elaion.

More than an acquisition, this is an investment in the land itself and in Elaion’s long-term commitment to producing Greek olive oil with respect for nature, knowledge and quality at every stage. Elaion’s philosophy begins with the Greek soil, from which its early-harvest olive oils are produced.

And, as every important moment should in Greece, the signing was followed by good food, raised glasses and time around the table. 🇬🇷🥂

It’s a beautiful time to slow down, wander through stone-built towns, sit beneath olive trees and experience a quieter side of Greece, after the peak of summer but before the season fully changes.

September in Greece has long been known as Trygitis: the month of the grape harvest. 🍇🇬🇷

During trygos (τρύγος), vineyards across the country come alive as grapes are gathered, often by hand, continuing a tradition deeply connected to Greek land, family and winemaking. From shared harvest tables and old village customs to the first steps of wine production, it is a season shaped by community as much as agriculture. 🍷

And very little goes to waste. Grapes may become wine, raisins or petimezi, while the remaining skins and seeds can later be distilled into traditional spirits such as tsipouro or Cretan tsikoudia.

A tradition that has evolved through the centuries, but still remains part of the rhythm of the Greek countryside. 🌿
