Braces Cleaning Routine in 3 Steps
Food stuck in your wires after every meal? Same.
Here's my 3-step routine that keeps my dentist happy at every adjust:
Step 1 — Interdental brush
Gently slide it under the wire and around each bracket. Pull out all the gunk your tongue can feel but can't reach. Don't force it — gums are sensitive, especially right after an adjust.
Step 2 — Water flosser
Trace along the gumline, under the wire, and between teeth. It gets everything the brush missed. I use the Kiwibird C1 — strong enough to flush out food, gentle enough not to make gums bleed.
Step 3 — Electric toothbrush
Angle 45° at the gumline, move slowly from tooth to tooth. Don't scrub. The Kiwibird K5 starts soft and builds up speed so it doesn't rattle your braces, and it auto-slows if you press too hard. Game changer for swollen gums.
