Once upon a time returning 6 M·A·C Cosmetics empties for recycling would've rewarded you a free lipstick. This entire collection would've given back 15! (value: $345)💄
Alas, as of last year in 2023, the company has ceased this reward system, yet encourages further recycling with the ADDED requirement of having to clean out the empty, since as customers you enjoy working for free and love an extra step.
Even reducing this to exchanging only 6 empties A YEAR was not enough to sustain the greedy purse strings of cosmetics conglomerate juggernaut, Estee Lauder.
In a market more saturated and competitive than ever, you'd think long-time loyal customers deserved better.
But just as MAC grew with good word of mouth, so begins its demise of the opposite. Such are the laws of the universe.
As a former employee, I am most disappointed.
