Today i had a call from a potential client asking me if i am licenced or not, i told her of course and she is welcome to pass by my office any time to show her my licence from ministry of health and the association of Estheticians.

In order to have those 2 licences in cyprus you need to send your degree, ( which mine is 4 years aesthetician cosmetologist university in thessaloniki degree )
make blood tests, have a doctors clear out note that you dont have anything contagious to transfer to your clients.

I am thankful for this call as i realized its been few years since i posted my registration number and its not easily found in my site as well.

I need to share that in order for us to keep our licence by our association, its mandatory to gain 10 certification points every 2 years by attending seminars for new technologies and treatments in Nicosia, otherwise we lose the licence to work.

Also i need you to know that my or anyones registration number and file number of the ministry of health is PUBLIC RECORD
And is easily found online!
You can check anytime who is licensed and who is not!
Having diplomas up in the wall from some seminars or a degree that is not in esthetics, cosmetology, does not make you an Esthetician, cosmetologist or an
"esthetic practitioner" or legally working in the field.

In the past years and especially during covid and after many People decided to just work in our field naming themselves estheticians or cosmetologists or both, just because they could buy from abroad machines by themselves and just open offices. I hear from my many colleagues constantly about the illegal offices and the non licenced people that suddenly appeared like mushrooms. Its crazy

Our field is under the Health department, for a reason.

Today i want to discuss about Dermapen 4 Microneedling treatment and Acne.

Microneedling was always a contraindication to active acne, why? Because you can spread the bacteria and make it much worse.
That is the case when its done with saline or moisturising actives like hyaluronic acid.
