Shiatsu Cyprus
Shiatsu Cyprus Shiatsu is a Japanese word meaning ‘finger pressure’ and uses the same principles to diagnose and treat as acupuncture.
Gentle stretches and pressure is applied using fingers, thumbs, palms and knees. The practice is based on four schools: anatomy and physiology, traditional Chinese medicine, the ‘Five Element’ theory and Zen Shiatsu. It also encompasses techniques and theories shared with physiotherapy, osteopathy, craniosacral therapy and psychology. A person's body, mind, emotions and spirit are manifestations of one another. Disharmony in any of these aspects of ourselves can only be effectively treated by understanding a person as a unique expression of all these features. Physical, mental, emotional or even spiritual dis-ease can be prevented and treated through the physical touch of shiatsu. CONDITIONS THAT HAVE BEEN HELPED WITH SHIATSU

SHIATSU FOR PREGNANCY AND LABOUR
Shiatsu for Pregnancy and Labour is effective, and recommended after your first trimester. These treatments can help support the changes that occur during pregnancy by allowing you to fully connect with the experience. They support the body and mind in preparing for birth, and empower the expectant mother to give birth with strength and confidence. WHAT TO EXPECT DURING YOUR FIRST SESSION
The practitioner will begin by taking a case study covering your medical background and current condition and by ascertaining what you are looking to achieve from the sessions. Shiatsu is traditionally practiced on a futon or a mattress at floor level. Come to your session wearing loose, comfortable clothing. Try to avoid eating a heavy meal within an hour of the beginning of the session. During the session, you may be given some lifestyle recommendations and gentle exercises.
