So far, 'Allégorie de l'été' is our perfume with the highest concentration of naturals, especially citrus. Let's all hope EU regulations don't change too soon.

Ah the simplicity and earnestness of summer flings! The heat melting away any sense of reason or shame. That's the inspiration behind 'Allégorie de l'été'.

Pep helped me bring it to life with a very à propos Chinotto accord, sticky and bitter like the aftermath of your seasonal romance.

Your Body of Water is an olfactive interpretation of the eponymous novel by Siouxzi Connor, created in collaboration with the author, to adorn the space hosting her public readings and the bookmarks offered with her work.

Truly an amazing weekend at the fair - my heart is full of gratitude for the many visitors, the generosity of fellow perfumers and kindness of internet friends.

I'm deeply touched by all the wonderful feedback people have shared with me, by the visitors genuine interest in hearing our stories and smelling our work, and by the spirit of camaderie amongst the exhibitors present at this edition.

I rarely write about my experience as a small business owner, but today was my last studio day for the year and I feel I need to exorcise 2024 out of my system.

Up until one week ago, I didn't know if the immigration office would allow me stay in Germany.  My entire year was shaped around my 20 minute meeting with Klaus the Beamter: would I make enough profit? Would I have to go back working a full time job? Would I have to terminate my entire life including my business in order to move somewhere else (or back home)? In the end, Klaus decided I could stay, for another 3 years.

I have learned this year that owning a small business is a daily choice and your conviction must be unshakable. I get to choose this every morning - the freedom and the creativity, but also the insecurity and responsibilities. Many mornings this year were close to be the last ones for Miskeo, still, my inner voice knew with certainty that I wasn't done just yet. I have to believe that there are other ways to live besides having a job that makes you miserable or be a starving artist. Goddess knows I'm not an optimist - I think spite drives me forward more than hope, but good things are coming: seeing dear friends at Esxence, having more time for mentoring, brand new packaging and launching a new collection.

Aurevoir 2024, I'm ready to rot until 2025.

Four years ago Miskeo was born on this day under a full moon, by no mere coincidence. We chose this portent day to make the bewitching power of scent and its transformational ability our everyday reality.

Five perfumes and many failures and a couple of big joys later, Miskeo still grows.
